I haven't even started adding the books you guys have mentioned to the tracking or April tab, which is why everything but the color cards are marked as 0 filled. In a day or two when I get everything situated I'll post another update. :)

Karla I have finished Moonwalk by Michael Jackson , already in the spreadsheet. If you like Michael Jackson, I suggest you read it! I could have finished it faster, if I didn't get distracted by wanting to listen to the songs he mentions in the book!

Lol Nicole, I'll get that started tonight if I can! I have to make sure I have everything for March completed and verified first. The mods are giving us about 18 hours after the countdown ends to get the spreadsheets done before tallying up the points but I don't want to put it off. ;)

You don't have to plan books for specific cards/hands, if you don't want to. We have a book tracking tab on the spreadsheet and keep track of all the cards each book will work for. That way Maria Helena and I can rearrange books to fill in all of the hands, and for the most part everyone can just read what they want to! We don't have to complete the hands in order and books aren't actually locked into a spot until the end of the month.

That said, if you want to start planning for specific cards go for it! We don't have that many books even posted yet (besides those for the special color cards) so it's wide open! I have probably 15 books of my own that I need to put in for April, but I haven't even begun to think about that yet, lol.

I would say the more difficult cards for us to fill seem to be the Reverse and 5, 7, and 8. Possibly 4 as well - at least, for some reason in March we ended up having a bunch of 4s to fill in at the last minute. We only have six 7 cards, but we have eight of all the others I mentioned, so if you have books to fit any of those I'll probably be filling in several of those spaces first. :)

Awesome, Karla! I actually saw that book earlier today at my library. I may have to give it a try!

Since Karla is finished, that means I just have to finish up Onyx and we are done! I still have to double check some of the info, and look up words in so many books for the Easter mini-challenge, but we at least have the March mini-challenge and all 13 hands completed! :)

FANTASTIC job, everyone! :D

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 48 comments Oh, and I've just started a #9 in a series for April!

message 262: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 516 comments Nicole, anything read in March that isn't used expires this month, sadly we can't carry them over into April! :( But, I'm going to go through all of your books for the scavenger hunt words so hopefully we'll get some points for them that way!

And yay for a 9! :D Whenever you post the book info (doesn't matter if you post when you're currently reading or when you finish, people post both ways) can you also list any other cards you notice it will fit for? Maria Helena and I can pull info from the main GR page if needed, but often there are multiple card options that only someone who reads the book can know (minor characters, settings, etc). :)

message 263: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 516 comments Maira Helena, can you please add your No Shortcuts to the Top book to your Uno shelf? Thanks! :)

Looks like all of the other March books are on Uno shelves and have finish dates marked so we're good there.

For the Easter challenge, I have 6 of my own books to search and 10 other books read by various people. I didn't realize there were that many haha, I think some of them may not have been posted in here or else I missed them! ;) I'll work on those first thing when I get back online - if I can't find online previews I will ask whoever read the books if they are able to search. :)

Denise (kitsune816) | 516 comments Okay, finished up with all of the spreadsheet stuff for March, I believe! We managed to fill in 13 of the words for the Easter scavenger hunt (we had a few extra books but they were repeat words) which is pretty good considering I don't think anyone was specifically reading books for certain words! ;)

I doubled all of the Wild cards we had and then used the rest for various 25 point cards. So we received an additional 355 points for that mini-challenge. We finished all hands and got 195 bonus points for that, and also completed the March mini-challenge. Overall we ended up with 2720 points.

Great job, everyone! :D

Denise (kitsune816) | 516 comments Lol, so far all of the books that we have that would work for Reverse also work for 5. Not really sure where to put everything in the hands since those are both difficult cards to cover! Put Silver Borne in for a Draw 2 in hand 5 so at least we can cover both 5 and Reverse with that one!

Oh, and I finished Evernight (Evernight, #1) by Claudia Gray and used it for 7 Red, which leaves 1 Red open still. I figured that one would be easier to cover later. But, my book will work in either spot. :)

I haven't put Ashley's Opposition in yet, haven't decided if we need it more for a 5 or Reverse. :) I also have several of my own books to add into hands, but I'm holding off until I actually read (or at least start) them. Last month I added in a ton of books and then had to change everything around because of other games, lol.

message 295: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 48 comments Would Stars Above by Marissa Meyer work for blue? I'm reading that currently.

message 296: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 516 comments I think it probably would. Would it fit for a 7 card in any way? I can't think of any V characters/settings in the series off the top of my head but I haven't read that book yet!

I'm currently reading my book for the 5 Blue space - if I happen to find a V character in that I could move it to the 7 Blue space and yours could be moved to the 5 Blue, if Iko makes an appearance at all? I probably won't be lucky enough to find a V character though, lol.

message 297: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 48 comments Iko does make an appearance, I can support that already. But yeah, nothing so far I've read that shows it as a 7 card. Will keep an eye out for V characters as I go through too!.
