Martina Forasacco | 74 comments FINALLY finished my book, which was funny! I hadn't been reading horror stories for a while, and this was my first book from Stephen King. So, yeah, an average 3 stars.
Also, today was my last school day in the wonderful world of Japan, so I'll be a little more punctual in reading from now on, sorry for this period :(
Can't wait for the next stop, I'm looking for the new book :)

Elinaly Yay! Martina - the school is over :D
Are you leaving Japan now?

I will send PM to Travel Agent a bit later today!

message 653: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments I will take my time to say goodbye (sigh) and visit around until the 8th of August :)
Thank you for the good work, and did anyone have suggestions for next step books?

How is everyone doing on this stop?

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments Still looking for a book

message 658: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments Shy - it looks like everyone has picked a book with the phase "all ears" in it...and have either read or are currently reading them.

Looks like you are free to choose any book for this stop. :)

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments Ok then Im done. I finished The Fallen Star (Fallen Star, #1) by Jessica Sorensen this morning.

Hi Martina - hope your visiting in Japan is going well!!

You had listed that you were reading "the Shadow of the Wind" for this weeks task for "all ears" in the text. Did you want to change this book? I missed your question earlier, but I wasn't sure what you were asking.

message 661: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments I still hadn't picked my book, so now I'm fine: reading the shadow of the wind and apologize for always being late, but really, time is too little for everything :(
Also, for next week precious research does anyone have any suggestion or list?

message 662: by Angie ☯ (last edited Jul 27, 2016 08:25PM) (new)

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments Martina - what type of books do you like? The Janet Evanovich "Wicked" trilogy has the characters trying to save/recover precious artifacts. Or you can use the "any book" option for next week and not have to match the task.

Anyone else have suggestions?

I don't know why the spreadsheet had Shadow of the Wind listed....if you hadn't picked it...I am so sorry!!! Maybe I read it wrong....and it was listed for someone else! If that doesn't work for you to read, we can find something else.

message 663: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Nono, I put it in the checklist: I didn't knoW what to pick, but then I thought of rereading the Shadow of the Wind and added it to the spreadsheet :)
Now I'm finished (and happy of having reread it because I really didn't appreciate it the first time) and happy to go on a new adventure. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll try this Wicked trilogy and try to keep on time.

PS! I sent the PM to the Travel Agent :)

I know this stop and one more and we will have completed the entire challenge!! :(

Elinaly Shy The WidowMaker wrote: "I just finished The Shadow Queen on 8/4."

Is there also precious item that needs to be saved?

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments No I was using it for any book for the stop as your stated above.

message 672: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Ok - all clear! Thanks! :)

message 673: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Hi! Sorry for the disappearance, but all my journeys are coming to a sudden end: I'm back in Italy since yesterday and spent the last week crossing Kansai in Japan :( If you ever have a chance, go see Japan for real, I miss it so much already!
But I had time to think of the book, don't worry :) I found a book by Murakami Haruki, which I'm not sure will fit: it's "Pinball, 1973". Basically the protagonist goes searching for the Pinball he linked many youth memories to...can it count as search of precious things? :)

message 674: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Martina - welcome back to Europe! :)
Don't worry! Enjoy peacefully reading the book, our trip will be over anyway soon, so there is no such rush.

Not sure about the task fitting though. No one to ask, we have to make a decision among ourselves. So what others think?

message 675: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 290 comments "Pinball, 1973". Basically the protagonist goes searching for the Pinball he linked many youth memories to...can it count as search of precious things?

My vote would be yes, I feel memories are precious and searching for whatever can link us to them would count

message 676: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments I thought it is personally precious, I couldn't quite make up my mind if it is the right sense. You're right, Elinely, I can't believe it is almost over :(

message 677: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 2143 comments I agree that memories are precious and I think the book fits.

message 678: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments I agree with everyone. I vote yes as well.

message 679: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments yey! then, it's over I think! :)

message 680: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly I agree with you that memories definitely count as precious item, but the task is: save a precious item.
Search is not the same as save. Or it could be with memories... searching and finally finding the thing that is connected to your memories is the same as saving them.

So ok - I vote for yes also. Let's not stress too much about it :D

message 681: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly We have finished the stop! Yay!

Ready for werewolves? I bet Shy has some books with werewolves character, right? :)
Martina, you're going to read any book or find out more about werewolves? :D

This is our last stop!!! *Wailing....

LEADER BOARD

This is our FINAL stop on our ATW tour. It has been a great adventure, with wonderful new friends!!

message 683: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Book with werewolves ready: I want to rediscover my preadolescent self with "Life and Death", the rereading of Twilight :)

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments So sad this is our stop and of course I have something that can work for werewolves.

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments Finished Wild Things (Chicagoland Vampires, #9) by Chloe Neill on 8/11.

message 686: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Hi everyone! I'm over, too, but I discovered there is no explicit werewolf character in the book: there is a clan of descendants, but it's not specified who is one and who is not...so, can I go with any book?

message 687: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Ok, sorry, I still hadn't read the epilogue: a character is explicitly said to be a werewolf :)
stop completed! thank you for this adventure and this three travels, I started loving reading challenges, hope to meet you again in goodreads :)
