I added a new page to our Spreadsheet to keep track of our points...it should total our points automatically once we type in the points earned for each individual stop.

I'm all for relaxed pace. I'd say 3 weeks is a great time line. I'm apt to forget about books/challenges if I don't have something holding me in a time frame :D

My book will be changing - I ended up reading Lolita before we moved on to the next stop. I have nothing on hand but will read something before the end date :)

That was one of my top reads the year it came out - have just read the final one in the series

I'm about 30 pages from being done with The Horse and His Boy. Can't wait to be done with it. Not my favorite Narnia so far.

Is very different to the others, was my least liked as well - the second least like was the The Magician's Nephew - all that jumping in and out of ponds was weird!! LOL!!!

Stage 3 is Travelling from Leon (Nicaragua) to Kemi/Tornio [Finland] (FI) – Read by 14th April (23rd March – 14th April)
We are doing a spell it out here. So the choices are:
FINLAND - 7 letters
NICARAGUA - 9 letters
LEON - 4 letters
KEMI - 4 letters

There are 8 of us so we can read:
Finland and one person stays out, or
Nicaragua and one person reads 2 (bags not me reads 2 - LOL) or
there is both Leon and Kemi that add up to 8 so we could all take one letter.

What do you think?

I am also almost done with my book: The Elegance of the Hedgehog. I can see why people like it so much. I have no idea why I didn't get to it when it first came out. Now that I have totally binged on the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries on Netflix I'm back to reading.
So-- Isn't the Leon we are heading to in Spain? I'm happy to read one or two books and I have plenty of books with all those letters involved.

I also started planning which book I can contribute to this spell it out; got several options so far. I was originally thinking we'd spell out KEMI/TORNIO but that's 10 letters and two people would have to read 2 books so I'm not sure if we'd want to do that.

I thought maybe LEON /KEMI as they are our from and to cities - which will give us one each.

I have books that will cover M (Miracle In March and Manners & Mutiny) and also I (Invaded) which I am packing to take with me - so one of them would be perfect.

Actually the 'I' one would work for a few of the words :)

I have no trouble reading multiple books for the spell it out in KEMI/TORNIO if we would like to go that route. I read at least 3-4 books a week typically, so I can definitely read 2, and possibly 3 for it in the 3 weeks we've allotted to each stop.
I'm not sure if we are supposed to use the place we've just left when doing the spell-it-out, I was thinking we were only supposed to use the place we've traveled to for that stop...so I didn't think we could use LEON since it's where we were the stop before.

I want to see what letters everyone else is going to grab before looking for books for it, that way I can try to take some of the "not wanted/rejected" letters to make it easier on you all.

Well that sounds like a plan - If I could bags an 'I' and I will read Invaded by Melissa Landers - this is because I am unsure of my wiFi access - but will be back in range before the 14th April when we all need to have stage 3 read by.

The spell it out rules are a little looser than I thought.
Spell-it-out rules

Using the first letter in the book’s title, the first letter of the series name, the first letter in the author’s first or last name, or the first letter of a character’s first, last, or nick-name, or the first letter in the audiobook narrators first or last name.
If you are reading a translated version, you can also use the first letter of the translator's first or last name.

As always, if the first letter of a title starts with ‘A’, ‘An’, ‘The’, etc., you may use the first letter of the second word in the title to spell out your chosen word.

Plenty of time - have 5 physical books and then my kindle and kobo apps on my iPad with another 300 odd books on them - so should cope.
