MaryAnn (EmilyD1037) I just finished Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder #1 in the Hannah Swensen series by Joanne Fluke. I gave it 3.5 stars. I liked it fine and thought it was a good first book.

I am going to start #2 a little later in the month. I have several groups going and want to try to keep up. I am glad that I was
gifted with this choice this month. I have been adding her books
to my TBR shelves for a long time.

Yes, she's still going all over the world having great adventures. There's something about her that makes you wish you were travelling with her. It's wonderful to have a character who isn't flighty, and a series where the focus is on the murder, not romance or fashion.

I've got to try the Doolittle and Higgins series. I'd like to see if I could picture Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison as the characters.

message 426: by Mark (new)

Mark Baker (carstairs38) | 1290 comments The Doolittle and Higgins series is absolutely fabulous. I've only seen the play, so I don't picture the actors as the characters, but I don't feel it hurts me at all.

In the last week and a half, I've enjoyed:

Forget Hepburn, Eliza is either Wendy Hiller in the movie version of Pygmalion or Julie Andrews. Hepburn's singing voice was the late, great Marni Nixon
