Catch-22 seems to have received various ratings from my GR's friends. How did you rate it?

I actually really enjoyed it, but it was really weird right on the heels of Night. Hard to laugh at anything related to WWII after that book, yet I did. I found it to be a disturbing critique of the ways in which human and bureaucratic stupidity can take what might be a meaningful if tragic situation and make it unnecessarily more tragic.
I read November 9by Colleen Hoover

Nov 9th is significant for me for a couple of reasons. First, it was my grandfather's birthday. Secondly, it was the day I got married as practically a child bride. I was 19... so long ago.

Sorry, Ariane, but you need to reduce your total in "a" to one digit. So it's 4+5+1=10, 1+0=1
Total score is amended to 13
For this month's challenge I read 1984 by George Orwell It was the first book I thought of because I had been meaning to read it since I down-loaded it in the summer. I scored 4 points for 1984, 2 points for the author's names, and 2 points for the number of pages, for a grand total of 8 points.
Not a super impressive score and, to be honest, not a fun read (althouth I am glad that I read this classic finally) .
I read 206 Bones. Scoring:
Title- 206 = 2+0+6 = 8 +2 (for title has 2 words) = 10

Joe was on a dairy free diet and I know that Stephanie gives the hamster Cherios but I do not think she mentions eating any in this book.
Karen wrote: "Not a super impressive score and, to be honest, not a fun read (althouth I am glad that I read this classic finally) ..."RE: 1984. Awful, huh! I listened to it last year. Although the narrator was very good, I think listening was worse than reading it.
I don't remember much of 1984 since we read it in highschool. Maybe the silver lining is that you are in the running for the gluestick award, Karen. The gluestick award is the much coveted badge awarded for having the lowest points.

I'm confused, Jannene. Can you rescore this leaving out all the original criteria, please? Use KimeyDiann's example in message 79.You've missed scoring the title, and author. As for the cover, I meant two of the same things - you would need two faces, two cities. Not two separate things.
Thanks

It's really easy to misunderstand the scoring. You read the rules, search high and low, for days or weeks, for a book with rules which by now have become slightly altered. Weeks later you finally finish the book, applying rules for scoring not as written but as perceived by your previous modifications.
Then,......reality. Your method of scoring is compared to the real rules for scoring by a YLTO Justice Court Judge!!!
You all do a great job!!!

I wanted to post this here too in case Rusalka posts her points.I just finished The 5th Witch and look at the names in the book "Miska Vedma let out a scream and flailed her arms. The mask that Annie was wearing was the face of a Rusalka, a Russian water witch who could trap her victims behind any shiny surface—a pool, a window, or a mirror.
Miska Vedma screamed so shrilly in Dan’s ear that he was almost deafened. “You think you can play with me, child? You think you can pretend to be a Rusalka? My grandmother was a Rusalka!”

What issue did you read for Four Past Midnight, Sam. I gave 3 points for 3 colours on the edition I read.
Mine seems to have black, white, yellow, orange and some other shades. Wasn't sure if shades counted.

so white is colour or not?because some of us have counted it as one of the three colours... shouldnt we have had those points then?
