And regarding the previous conversation..In detour7task we all have to read a book during that time apart from the one used for detour from what I understand to get the last 10 points.

I tried to make the spreadsheet for this stop, but for some reason it won't let me copy and paste one of the other stops to the new page without downloading a whole new app. I am terrible at spreadsheets, so it would probably literally take me hours to rebuild what the other pages look like, so if anyone else can copy and paste, have at it!

So we are just missing Romina to finish the spell it out. I think we can use her book Lost Girls for the author name that begins with A to complete our spell it out, and it looks like she has finished a book since our arrival on 3/10. Does that sound okay Romina?

Doesn't seem like there is much interest on our team for this game, and I'm losing interest myself so I'm going to stop updating the spreadsheet with my books.

Can I get a roll call for who on the team would like to continue with this game? I know that i too have been a little slack with checking in but i think its also harder because we don't have team captain co=ordinating things.

Anyhew looking at the spreadsheet, we have finished stop 4 and a re ready to head to stop 5. I will let the the mods know so we can move to the next stop.

I would suggest the detour - character beginning with J for this stop because we should already have most of the books for it in what we have read so far and requires the least amount of participation while we do roll call.

It is currently 8 am on Sunday here and given the Easter holiday, shall we give to next Snday same time to check in or say you don't want to continue. At the end of the week, we can see how many want to go on, how many haven't checked in and how many don't want to continue. Once we know those numbers we can decided whether we have enough to continue on with some hitchhikers or whether its time to dissolve the team altogether. It would be nice to at least finish the tour though.

I agree with all that you both said. I'm still in and have been adding my books to the SS as I finish them (though I think that because of the holiday I am a bit behind, but I shall catch up). I'd definitely like to finish!

I did message the mods last week that we were finished with our last stop, so we can go ahead and add the next sheet and start filling it in. Of course, then I forgot to come back and tell everyone that. ** hangs head in shame** I'm sorry I haven't been more on this--I've gotten a little wrapped up in other challenges.

And I'm pretty sure Nikk is right and we already have enough J names in our list--I think I did a quick run through on that last weekend too.

I just updated, added a book Ive read and not used to the read books page and updated this stop with the book I am reading which I should finish tomorrow, started reading it on the bus ride and got quite far!!

I think Ill be able to continue and be more involved now..I started my last year of Uni about a month ago so thats why Ive dissapeared a bit..A LOT going on right now and added to that that I didnt have a computer for most of the time it was just a bit crazy.
But I think I got a good routine going with school and life right now so I should be able to make time for reading and for following along on the trip!! I really do enjoy this and I hope we can keep it going :D

Lindsay and Rosina, how are you going? Have you been able to read a book this week? I want to see if we can get the detour done. Given we have lost two we probably can't get the final 10 points ( for every one reading a book this week) without waiting for hitch hikers to come on board anyway but if you could update and let me know how you are going that would be great.

Also a vote, should we move forward to the next stop without the final 10 points or wait for hitchhikers to come on board before finishing the stop?

I don't actually understand what the detour for the Malaysia stop means. Someone want to take pity on the heavily medicated?

the mods have updated stop 5 so we are ready to get started on stop 6.

I think we are going to need to do the detour on this stop as the name is too long to do a spell it out and I am not sure we would all be able to find a book set in Malaysia or by a Malaysian author.

Bobbi, when you pull up a page for a book eg The Sorceror King, on the right hand side you will see the heading genres and a whole lot of shelve links ( in this case fantasy, young adult, romance up to about ten of them after which is a link See top shelves . When you click on this link you see the most popular shelves that people have put this book on, in good reads. If one of the shelves on that first page is 2008 then we can read this book for the detour. In this case, there is a 2008 shelf towards the bottom of the first column so I could read Sorceror king for this detour

As far as detour/spell out, I'm agreeable to either option, but yes, that would be hard to spell. If anyone wants to try spell out, I was able to find this (clicky clicky) on Wikipedia earlier today.

I'm looking for a first page shelf 2008 book. The problem I'm running into, is that all the top shelves on the first page for books published in 2008 are actually later years--when people have actually read them. I'll keep looking, but just so you all are aware.
