⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) ⚜Foreman Trea’s Music Tribute Challenge

description

February 3rd is known as The Day The Music Died, due to the fact that Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper died in a plane crash on that date in 1959. Since my mom raised me on 50s and 60s music, I'm doing a tribute to them this month.

Levels:
Single: 1-3 books
Set: 4-6 books
Album: 7-10 books
Superstar: Complete all tasks

No minimum required pages this month!

Tasks:
Buddy Holly Hits
Peggy Sue: Read a book by an author named Peggy or Sue
That'll Be The Day: Read a book where someone leaves by means of death or having to say good-bye
Oh, Boy!: Read a book where the characters know they are meant for each other

Ritchie Valens Hits
La Bamba: Read a book with a Mexican/Spanish character, one set in Mexico, or where the characters attend a dance
Donna: Read a book by an author named Donna or has a character named Donna
Come On, Let's Go: Read a book with a young child in it (referencing the "Little Darling" line in the song)

J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson Hits
Chantilly Lace: Read a book where a character is wearing lace on the cover, or is set in France or Virginia

American Pie by Don McLean (Song honoring the tragedy): Read a book by an author named Don or McLean, a book where someone makes a pie, a book set in February, a YA novel, a book where a character works for a newspaper

The Day The Music Died: Read a book where the characters travel by Plane, or where the characters take a trip to Minnesota

Flower of the Day: Alyssum, Gold Dust: Read a book with flowers on the cover or has a cover that is gold or yellow
Recipe of the Day: Beef Stroganoff: Read a book where a character likes to cook

Gone Too Soon
While Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper are the ones that left us on February 3, 1959, we've lost so many good musical voices in recent years. This section is devoted to them and is by no means a complete list.

Michael Jackson: Read a thriller type book
Ben E. King: Read a book with Stand in the title
Natalie Cole: Read a book with a pink cover, or a car on the cover
Dave Brubeck: Read a book where a piano is on the cover or is used in the plot
