Am I the only one who Hates Roran? He just anoyed to no end.

But I loved Saphira shes a dragon but shes a character in her own right. I think she is amazing and beautiful in personality and description.

Which characters do you hate love even the love to hate?

I agree,Roran is boring.I was so irritated with him that I just skipped some parts which were from Roran's POV.But I think ,the character I dislike the most is the hero himself-Eragon.

I like Arya,Angela,Saphira and Murtagh.

I fond the Roran segments boring too. I just preferred the more action packed, magical scenes to Roran leading refugees through the mountains.

But I think it was needed to mix up the pace.

I hated Saphira as a character. True, she is a dragon, and that's awesome, but she also sometimes tends to be a fount of infinite wisdom, level-headed, and reasonable. That is, when she isn't doing dragon-things, like hunting or killing. She just came off as flat, though the few chapters from her perspective did help a bit.

Eragon was a great character in the first books, but I felt he faded a bit. To me, he became a conglomerate of others' ideas, a wish-wash who could not choose one doctrine and stick with it. It's like he learned almost nothing from Garrow or his childhood. Also towards the end, it seemed like Paolini struggled to match him with a menacing enemy other than Murtagh, whom came back over and over. And that's not even mentioning Eragon's mess of a romance, which seems to mostly consist of him fawning over and making proposals to Arya again and again.

Roran really shone for me. He didn't have the power that Eragon did, nor the finesse of Nasuada. What he did have was a decent motivation, a good romance, and an epic story. I greatly appreciated his more tactical and down-to-earth view of the battles, contrary to Eragon's lofty perspective. On my third reread of this series, I almost considered skipping straight to Roran's chapters and forgetting about Eragon.

And, oh yes, Nasuda. Wily, devoted and with a smoothness that the others lack. Loved her character.

Does anyone else here like Angela and wants to learn more about her in the next book?

Yeah, I really do not like Roran either. He's just so boring and annoying. My favorite character is Murtagh because of his awesome background and personality. I also loved the dragons. The way they communicate is cool. Also, their strength and power was just awesome.

I really like how the dragons communicate. Its really creative how he came up with that.

I'll agree, Roran annoys me, but I do occasionally enjoy his parts. Saphira is great, and - I'm sorry I'm not sure which book this is in, so it may not be in brisingr - I love the parts where she is alone, and it is written from her point of view. As always, Oromis and Glaedr are amazing. Eragon, it seems greatly matured from the first book, which made him so much more tolerable. Arya was great, but I felt sorry for her, having to turn Eragon away, when she cared so much for him, and him for her. Nasuada simply inspires me. She is such an amazing person, especially in the last book, with murtagh. One of my very favorites, though is Angela the Herbalist. So quirky, and yet she's powerful and mysterious. But of course, saving the best for last, Murtagh must go to the top of my list. I have a thing for misunderstood people and for half-traitors, of which murtagh is both. He had to go through so much, and all the time everyone assumed that he was the threat his father was. Because of that, he turned against them. He could not help what he did, but things like Hrothgar's death wouldn't have happened if they hadn't distrusted him from the start. After all he did for them, they still held him apart from them. In that he had a reason for his revenge. It was wrong, but I can easily forgive him, given his past. So many people condemn him as Galbatorix's evil servant, but he was not evil, and he was not a servant. A servant is someone who does another's bidding willingly . Murtagh could do nothing else, for Thorn's sake, and then for Nasuada's. Please forgive him of what he did. He had no choice.

I didnt HATE Rorans parts, but he was boring in the first couple books. After he went to war and all that , he was a bit interesting.

I thought that Murtagh was annoying, I hate character like him. They just annoy me for some reason. I also think that he is alot like Sebastian for the Mortal Instruments series.

I didnt exactly like Arya's character because I felt she changed persona in the middle of the series. Her character completely changed direction and it was a bit confusing.

My favorite character was Saphira because she had a good personality and was interesting to read about.
