Sibil | 2361 comments Yes! I just written her before post here, but I post it anyway because it can give us an idea of how to start :) obviously once she said what she can read we can change things around :)

message 52: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments Right, and I'm sure most of us will end up reading other books than what we had planned initially. It's always good to have a starting plan though.

message 53: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (longy207) | 1581 comments Ok, sorry I haven't checked in I didn't realise team threads were up yet. It looks like you guys have sorted everything out but I would very much like to join in so let me have a look and a think and I'll sort it all out tomorrow- if that's ok

@Brooke That's great! :)

message 56: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments That looks great but, we each have to read 12 books or was that a mistaken rule?

message 57: by Sibil (new)

Rebecca (longy207) | 1581 comments Do you think that's okay?

message 64: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I think so!

message 65: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (longy207) | 1581 comments I will try to read as many as I can but next month is already looking quite busy so I may not be able to read all of them. Does each reader have to complete the categories or is it a group effort on each category?

message 66: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments That's great! :)
We are trying to do an effort as a group because all the books are really a lot! And if we try as a group we have more chance to finish more categories and earn more point.
Tomorrow evening if it's ok with you all I'll post a new "schedule" for the first round and insert your reading too, so we can try for the best result :)

Group effort. We split them up however we like as a team. But each person can only do a category once. For example, even if I had two books that fit the 'ring on the cover' category, I could only do one.

message 68: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (longy207) | 1581 comments That sounds great :) and I will try to read to your schedule. Also I apologise for not responding to the group chat earlier, I honestly just didn't notice teams were up.

message 69: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments I'm intending to start with The Fiery Cross (Outlander, #5) by Diana Gabaldon . It doesn't fit any of my assigned categories though. I'm sure we can swap something around, but it may take most of the month since it's lengthy. Just a head's up.

I think it could count for jewelry on the cover (and maybe female POV?) but the thinkg is that you have to read at least 12 books. If you think that you wouldn't because this one is really long you have to tell it to Sarah and Abby, so they can switch you on a fun team :)
So... I'll try to not count you in the first round, so you have more time for your book and if you remain with us it's not a problem, you'll go with the second turn, and if you change team we try to cover :)

Sibil | 2361 comments rebeccasneverendingbookshelf wrote: "That sounds great :) and I will try to read to your schedule. Also I apologise for not responding to the group chat earlier, I honestly just didn't notice teams were up."

It was not a problem :)
And the schedule is just a suggestion :)

message 72: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments So, I've tried to redo the schedule without Abby, that maybe would be active more far in the month or maybe would change group.. so we'll see. But for now, we try to do so:

message 73: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments It's just a suggestion and it could happen that we want or need to read books for task that are not ours in this round (maybe I have to read a book for another challenge that can count for "champagne" that now is assigned to Brooke. I can read it and count it for the next round. (And I speak about me for the example but it's about everyone!).

And also we can change with someone, and if we read all the book for this turn we can go on and read for the next or read for this one (example: maybe I've read 5 of my assignation and Brooke has finished. So she want to read some books that can cover the next round but that can also cover some of my goal for this round. All she has to do is say to me: I've a book for the "R" and I want to read it now, I'll take your place for this round" and it's done. I'll read the R book for the next.).

I've tried to write some example just to shows that the schedule is a suggestion for a team effort, but that it's not set in stone, we can make change, we can go ahead and then came back later, and we all can read at our own pace!

It's that good for you? (I can be a little bit bossy, but I really do not want to boss you around, girls, so I'm sorry if it seems so! :) )

message 74: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments That seems like a really good idea! That way if someone uses a book for the next round it won't take as much to complete that round either!

message 75: by Abby (last edited Jan 28, 2016 06:12AM) (new)

Abby | 5404 comments I didn't mean that would be the only book I'd be reading. I'll just be reading a bit of it at a time with other books in between. I'll definitely be finishing a lot of other books during the first round.

message 76: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Abby you are quite the genius! Lol I am reading Outlander a little bit at a time!

I own the whole set on Kindle and I read one every couple of months or so. I've read them for challenges in the past and it doesn't interfere much at all when you read smaller books in between.

Was book 1 super slow paced to you?

message 79: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments I actually didn't care for the first one too much after I read it. But after watching the TV series and letting it stew in my mind for a while, I warmed up to it and now I really enjoy the book series.

message 80: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Oh geez! I hope it doesn't take me all year to read the first book lol

message 95: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Yes :) How are we going to keep up with round 2 reads that get completed before round 1 is over?

message 96: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments Thanks for doing this for us, Sibil! I know how stressful tracking can be. :)

message 97: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments @Heather: we ask the point with the review as usual and then if the mods do not check out our progress in the progress' thread I'll do it :) and every now and then we'll regroup here to plan if there is the need :)

@Abby it was a pleasure! :)

message 98: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments oh okay!

message 99: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments I think that we could also do some buddy reads for The Naturals (The Naturals, #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes because I, Brooke and Rebecca listed it. If you girls are ok with it we can organize something (and gain more point).
The same think it would be possible for Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis : Rebecca listed it and I own it (I didn't think of it for the challenge, but I can read it with you) and I am not sure at 100% but I think I can manage also a buddy read for This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales that Brooke has listed (i think I own it on my e-readers, but I'll know for sure later).

So what do you think, girls?
