message 3: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments Hi! :)

message 4: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Do you know of anything that you plan to read?

message 5: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments Hello, ladies!

message 6: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Hey Abby!

message 7: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments I've read our goals and there are a lot of book that I can read without problems, but there are so many goals that I have to check tomorrow to be sure. For now I know that I can (and if possible I really want to) read a book "with Mr. or Mrs.in the title") because I'd like to read Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard in february (and obviously if someone want to read it with me is welcome! :) ).
And you?

message 8: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments No earthly idea lol

message 9: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments Well, we have time! :)
It's just that is a lot that I want to read that book, so as soon as I see the Mr. or Mrs. task I thought about him! ;P

message 10: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments I have a few buddy reads set up that are set in stone. They're a little flexible as far as categories: Remembrance (The Mediator, #7) by Meg Cabot P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern Morning Star (Red Rising Trilogy, #3) by Pierce Brown

message 11: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I need to go look at all the categories lol

message 12: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments Me too! I was the team planner for Family Fortunes but that was exhausting. I'm basically gonna wing it for this one, finding books for a specific category as they're needed.

message 13: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I definitely think we do need to go into it with a plan though!

message 14: by Abby (last edited Jan 23, 2016 07:31AM) (new)

Abby | 5404 comments Heather wrote: "I definitely think we do need to go into it with a plan though!"

I suggest we take it one section at a time and once we finish one, move on to the next and loop back again. We get a lot of bonus points for finishing each section.

message 15: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments I think it would be best to try to see first which goal we could cover without problems, just to see what we have and what we can do, and then try to organize it to do how suggest Abby, and complete one section at time, or try to do it.

It makes sens for you?

message 16: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments You're right, Sibil. Some categories are clearly easier than others so we should determine which ones we can cover.

message 17: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments I think that so it would be also more easy to try to finish the section :)

We could write down all the category that we can cover (maybe with a possible title ex: A book with Mr. or Mrs on the title ->Mr. Perfect" , because maybe you have the same book but do not think of it, but if we read the same book we can make some point for buddy read, for example) and then let's see what would come out :)

message 18: by Brooke (new)

Brooke ♥booklife4life♥ (booklife4life) | 6433 comments here :) dont know if should talk to you all while the other challenge is still going ;) this challenge is gonna be a stretch for me, most is gonna be romance based books, which i usually hate... :/

message 19: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I agree and did someone alert Sarah and Abbie that we were spammed?

message 20: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments Brooke wrote: "here :) dont know if should talk to you all while the other challenge is still going ;) this challenge is gonna be a stretch for me, most is gonna be romance based books, which i usually hate... :/"

Yes we can speak while the other challenge is going, because we would speak about february reading, so there's not problem :)

Heather wrote: "I agree and did someone alert Sarah and Abbie that we were spammed?"

Yes, I think was Abbiy who told them! :)

message 21: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
Do you want me to delete the spam?

message 22: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Good! I know it isn't nice to do this but I went looking at other teams threads to see if they had gotten spammed and some teams are assigning each person a task within the sections!

message 23: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments yes please Sarah! It's kind of confusing to me lol

message 24: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments I guess we're just waiting on Rebecca. Does anyone want to step up and make a list of the descriptions?

message 25: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
Done ☺

message 26: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I will!

message 27: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments We have a list of description in the apposit thread. Sarah posted it there for us :)

message 28: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments are we assigning people tasks?

message 29: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments I think that before assign the task it would be better if we all make a list of the task that we can complete.
Because maybe you have a book with a blue cover that you want to read but the task with the blue cover is not given to you, but I do not have the blue book and I have the task. It would be stupid if I have to read a blue book that I do not have and you that could have read it easly can't do it because we assigned it differently, is this right?
Maybe with a list of possible task for everyone would be more easy to assign the task. It's this ok for you? Or do you have different adiveces?

message 30: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments Sarah wrote: "Done ☺"

Thanks :)

message 31: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I was thinking we could all look at the lists and say hey I have this book can i do this task? and we make a list like that. Sorry if I didn't explain what I meant better lol

Having participated in challenges with specific categories, I've found that this is probably the best way to go. Especially if we have previously planned buddy reads. That way we can read what we want without having to compromise too much.

Heather wrote: "I was thinking we could all look at the lists and say hey I have this book can i do this task? and we make a list like that. Sorry if I didn't explain what I meant better lol"

We were saying the same thing :) Sorry I misunderstood :)

Sooo... we can start and make our lists and then we would see!

message 34: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Yes!

message 35: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments Here is almost 20 o'clock, so I'll try to post my list in about an hour (I have to dine now!) :)

message 36: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Okay!

message 37: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments I'd really like to read this:

Part 1 - The Bride and Groom
1. A couple on the cover Il tuo meraviglioso silenzio by Katja Millay or Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
4. Book told from a male point of view Hammered (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #3) by Kevin Hearne
5. Book told from a female point of view Summoning the Night (Arcadia Bell, #2) by Jenn Bennett
7. a blue book (either a book with a blue cover on goodreads, or with 'blue' in the title) A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness

Part 2 - The Ceremony

16. a cover or title portraying your perfect wedding weather, Polvere di neve by Indra Vaughn
17. Book with a man on the cover (best man) Il Siberiano (La mia vendetta con te, #2) by Giovanna Roma or Release (Davlova, #1) by A.M. Sexton
18. Book with a woman or girl on the cover (bridesmaid) A Different Blue by Amy Harmon
20. 'Mr' or 'Mrs' in the title Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard

Part 3 - The Reception:

22. gifts, or invites, on the cover or in the title. The Naturals (The Naturals, #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes or The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
25. A white cover, or a romance novel
26. something music related on the cover Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star by Heather Lynn Rigaud
28. An Adult novel
30. a beach or location for a honeymoon (this can either be on the cover, or a location from a book, again, if you want to honeymoon in Narnia that's fine)

Part 4 - The Happily Ever After
Read books whose titles start with the following letters:
F. Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs
O. Of Metal and Wishes (Of Metal and Wishes, #1) by Sarah Fine
E. The Education of Alice Wells by Sara Wolf
V. Venetian Masks by Kim Fielding

Books that I do not own

Part 1 - The Bride and Groom
3. a tiara or veil on the cover
9. make up or Jewellery on the cover (or title)

Part 2 - The Ceremony
12. ring(s) on the cover,
14. Camera or photograph on the cover

Part 3 - The Reception:
21. Cake (or food)on the cover (or title)
24. champagne or a beverage on the cover (or title)

For the goal that are not written here I can work up something and find a suitable book.
And, also, I do not think that I can read more than 13 books. Maybe I will, in the end, but I do not believe it, at least for now.

message 38: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I can pretty much pop up with any book and read it!

message 39: by Abby (new)

Abby | 5404 comments I've got one for ring on the cover: Something Borrowed (Darcy & Rachel, #1) by Emily Giffin .
And Glass Sword (Red Queen, #2) by Victoria Aveyard comes out this month, which will cover the tiara.
I'm also reading Remembrance (The Mediator, #7) by Meg Cabot , which I can use for flowers on cover and Morning Star (Red Rising Trilogy, #3) by Pierce Brown for "something new"
The Silence of the Lambs (Hannibal Lecter, #2) by Thomas Harris for "Or forever hold your peace", P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern for love in the title.
And for what is probably our hardest category, the books from the wedding list, apparently Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike, #3) by Robert Galbraith works, so I've got that covered.
Unsure as to what else I'll read, but that's what i know for now.

Sibil | 2361 comments Well, that's great! :)
Maybe this evening (I'll have more time in the evening) I'll wrote a message to Rebecca and then I'll try to "assign" the reading, if you want :)

message 48: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Sure!

message 49: by Sibil (new)

Sibil | 2361 comments Sooo... I've just written to Rebecca and I've tried to organize the reading. We are completely covered for the first turn and maybe even the second one.
if it's ok with you we can try to finish the first round and then we would see again later. And obviously it's just a suggestion and we can change places or reading (and it's just a trial, because we have to see also what Rebecca could read!).

But we can try something like this:
Part 1 - The Bride and Groom
1. A couple on the cover, HEATHER
2. a dress on the coverHEATHER
3. a tiara or veil on the cover ABBY
