The first Doctor exiled to earth and working for UNIT would also be cool.
Also having Susan come back and travel again with any one of her Grandfathers.
and every Doctor should have a turn with K-9!

I wondered about Adric. If he'd had an older Doctor, like Four to continue reacting to, might he have been a less whiny character? Maybe even had the chance to mature? Maybe with Romana's help he really could have returned to E-Space ...? One of those 'what if' scenarios that could be played with.

Really any of the grumpier Doctors would work.
and if Rose and been paired with the first or second there would have been less talking about having them smooch.

Jamie would probably fit in well with most of the Doctors...
Liz Shaw or Romana with 9?
What if The War Doctor had a companion? He could have used the help of Ace with her Nitro-Nine and baseball bat.

Also think it would be nice to pair Ben and Polly with the 6th Doctor, as all three got kind of a rough deal.
Be nice to put them together and give them some good stories.

It's interesting in that I was thinking the same thing. Adric would have been great with 10. On the other hand Adric and 11 would have been a frelling DISASTER! Can you imagine 11's hyperactive childish antics would have probably driven Adric to ... well, it's scary to contemplate.

Yeah, I think they would die horribly and in some battle some where, some when. And when one died, he'd just go grab another recruit.

Possibly, but then, they might do well together, as I think Ace would call him on most of his more irritating aspects(I do love Ten, but he can be insufferable at times).
I'd love to see Ian and Barbara with some of the later Doctors. Love to know what they'd think, especially because they never got to see a regeneration.
Hmmm... I just realized, it's always "Ian and Barbara" for me--never one without the other. LOL.

Yeah, there some companions that you can only see as a pair.
Ian and Barbara, Ben and Polly etc.
For me, Rory and Amy are on that list.
I know Amy had a solo year, but I liked her better as part of a couple.

I think Jamie is one of those companions that works with just about every Doctor.

Jamie, Captain Jack and 13? Oh yeah!
But then I’d LOVE to have Jamie paired up with ANY Doctor.

Sorry Trae, I completely thought you where Travis there. He’s expressed admiration for Leela before. I thought I was just teasing him. Now I’m three shades of embarrassed. 😳
Leela has appeared in the Gallifrey range from Big Finish and there are some new Fourth Doctor audio adventures with her that are coming out next month. She’s definitely a fan favorite.

Leela and 12? Hmmmm. I like that idea.

Come on, get it straight.
I'm the one obsessed with pairing every Doctor with K-9!

😹😹😹 Trust me, I can’t get anything straight. 😹😹😹

Or just being happy that paired with her, he could be good cop.
"I can try and get her to not stab you, but she only occasionally listens. Maybe if you told us where the Sontarion base is, she'd forget about you and go stab somebody else instead?
Or not, don't really care, either way...probably not supposed to say that out loud...where'd I leave those cards Clara gave me...?

Want to create some new companions, but also need to figure out what classic ones I want.
I see lots of scribbled lists in my future.

Mwahahaha! My work is done. ::rubs hands with a smirk::

And accuse me of being manipulative. Huh.

It would be interesting to see Leela with Ten. She's very practical and he's very flighty. She might ground him. Or...Leela and Donna meeting! That needs to happen. It would be tons of fun(this may have happened in Big Finish already, I'm not sure. I'm so behind on my BF TBListenedT).
I wanted Jago and Litefoot to meet up with Vastra and Jenny, but alas! We do have the audio with Strax, though.

Interesting, as when I've been pairing, I've just been thinking of just the Doctor and a companion, but depending on the Doctor, you also have to consider if the switched companion would fit with other companions.
Jamie was there for 95% of the second Doctor's era, same with Tegan and the 5th.
Do you consider the other companions or is it just the Doctor?
You could come up with all kinds of neat combos.
If you pair Leela with the second, would you then have Ben, Polly and Leela, for example.
And then do you end up with Leela and Zoe?
Just thinking of the possibilities has my head spinning.

Excellent ideas Jadetyger! And always glad to see you here. :0)

I know, I just got that. Haven’t listened to it yet. I’m really looking forward to it. And I think there’s one were Jago meets the rest of the Paternoster Street Gang. I haven’t listened to much of the Jago & Litefoot stuff yet, just getting started on it.

Big Finish has a story in Doctor Who: The Second Doctor Volume 2, Dumb Waiter, in which the Second Doctor, Jamie & Victoria meet Leela. I just got it as well, it’s on sale from Big Finish right now. They’ve been having some crazy sales every week for anyone on their emailing list. They’re called Lockdownloads and some of the deals are as low as $1 or $1.50 on older titles, with free promotional downloads as well.

Shenanigans and then some.
Shenanigans and then some.

Very cool idea.
Interesting to me that so many things pairing the 6th with Troughton companions.
Must be because of the 'Two Doctors'...?
McCoys story makes me want to see a story where different Doctors are exiled to Earth and work with UNIT, instead of the Pertwee Doctor.
So many cool 'What ifs..." to play with.

Um

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
An alternate reality? A variant history? An incarnation of the Doctor and/or a timeline that was erased by effects of the Time War?
David Warner
as the Doctor!? I MUST be dreaming! It can’t be true! But wait ... Big Finish delivers! This was absolutely outstanding! David Warner as the Doctor. That’s it. I’m sold. Brilliant. Simply brilliant! And if that’s not enough for you - then you're crazy! But there’s also Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier and ... hold your breath ... David Tennant (released in June 2003, years before he’d become the Doctor himself)! A little bit of me has died and gone away. I must be dead. There’s not other explanation.

Lots of interesting ideas."
One didn’t agree with me, but the others are lots of fun.

Be fun to see him, huffing and puffing, trying to keep up with the Doctor and he and K-9 would soon become best friends.

Yep.

Had a fan fiction idea where the 7th attends Barbara's retirement party.
Or a Doctor going to a Scottish village and meeting Old Jamie, who entertains the local kids with his stories about the phantom piper that lives on the moon.
