Do you have any more details? As it is there are probably a lot of very different books that are going to fit.
What genre? Thriller, suspense, mystery, romance, scifi? Any of those could have that plot line but handle it very differently and more details would rule out -or in- a lot of possible books. Was it non-fiction, a true-story account?
When did you read it/how many years ago?
