Oh, sorry--I'll just let the chips fall.

I think people still appreciate hearing personal recommendations of books on Bowie's list! I just wanted you to also know you could directly influence the final selection (if so desired).

Finally got around to checking out that annotated list. Thanks for posting, Claire - it does make A Grave for a Dolphin sound pretty intriguing!

I give a hardy second to The Master and Margarita. (I recommend the Burgin/O'Connor translation for those debating). There's an excellent Russian mini-series from 2005, but unfortunately it looks like the YouTube version that used to be there is gone. Now the only one with English subtitles is in 10 minute chunks with poor video quality.

Thank you. Everybody keeps telling me I should read it, but I tried (no idea who the translator was) and got nowhere. I'll look out for that translation and give it another go.

That's pretty cool! Thanks for posting it.

Polling ends tomorrow, yes (I.e., about 27 hours from now)?

Polling is now closed, and the winner is: White Noise by Don DeLillo.

Thank you to everyone who voted. I'll start a Group Read thread shortly. See you there..
