I'm sure there are some great ones out there, but I tend to stick to the Goodreads one, as well, because I don't want to be locked into reading a particular book/genre at predetermined times. I like the freedom to jump from book to book as my mood dictates.

I know what you mean. When I do try a challenge, I prefer the ones that are very flexible. For example, ones that challenge things like reading 26 books, one by an author for each letter of the alphabet, or a title that begins with each letter. I don't like the ones that limit my genre, either.

I never, or almost never, read the book written by the same author (I´ve made 4 exceptions this year). For this years challenge, I want to read as much of Asian authors as I can.
(I´m for creating a challenge in here, Joseph.)
Yes, I do a lot of group challenges that are themed, some blog challenges, and personal challenges/tracking
Yes ive entered a few group challenges. I'm doing the alphabet soup challenge, and I'm doing the 2016 release challenge as well. There are different levels: level 1 is 1 new release, level 2 is 3 new releases etc.
I said I don't usually do challenges, but I just tripped across a group that is reading A Song of Ice and Fire this year. I've been wanting to read the series, so I joined it. It's definitely the exception to the rule, though.
I decided to create a folder and get a simple reading challenge going for anyone interested. Check it out here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
