I've been desperately trying to finish one I'd started before doing another but thought I should be a good mod and join in!

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments This is a great excuse to read some books that have been sitting on my "To-Read" shelf for ages! :)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments THough it's a libretto, and not strictly fantasy, I'm sneaking in "The Last Five Years", since I think more people need to be made aware of this spectcualr play (and the equally spectacular [if downbeat] film adaptation.)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments Finally getting to the "Divine Cities" books, which have been really highly recommended to me.

First book is "City of Stairs", apparently.

message 6: by George (new)

George Just finished "the Hollowing" which was weak and frankly, boring. Now reading "Azaroth & Sefalin" which is so far surprisingly good.

Robert Holdstock's book? Interesting, when I read it, (right after it came out in 1994) I loved it.

message 8: by George (new)

George Mythago Wood was a monster sized favourite which I read many moon ago, but I found myself wading through The Hollowing. Maybe, after such a time lapse, I was expecting more.

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments Added in The Last Mortal Bond; I've been waiting for this one for some time!

Looking good.

message 11: by Shadowdenizen (new)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments Thanks!

I've been lucky in that the stuff I've read has fallen into place pretty easily on this list.

I'm sure when it comes to the "X", "Z", (etc.), I'll have to start hunting.

How was it? Been waiting for that one too.

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments Excellent, thus far!

This series has blown me away. (In many ways, it reminds me of David Anthony Durhams Acacia: The War with the Mein series (which I also quite enjoyed.)

I keep reading B authors.

message 15: by Shadowdenizen (new)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments Nothing wrong with that! :)

I tend to read a lot of "R" and "S"" authors. Not sure why, it just works out that way!

That's why this is a really fun challenge!

message 16: by Lára (new)

Lára | 479 comments Do those count, too? I mean if we read more authors with one letter? I tend to read A´s

And good job, Shadowdenizen! :)

message 17: by Shadowdenizen (new)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments That might actually be a fun challenge, too!

I've just finished The Providence of Fire so looking forward to reading this one later in the year.

Regarding authors with letters. I seem to read a lot of M authors. Or in the case of this challenge read one book and then want to read the next before starting another fantasy series.

message 19: by Shadowdenizen (new)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments Added The Vision, Vol 1: Little Worse Than A Man; funny that a comic is one of the higher ranked titles on my list thus far!

message 20: by Shadowdenizen (new)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments Not sure why it took me so long to get to The Map of Chaos; I read and loved both The Map of Time and The Map of the Sky...

You're doing alright with this!

message 22: by Shadowdenizen (new)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments I've been lucky 'til now.

But now I gotta start actively looking for authors whose names I'm missing! (But I guess that's part of the fun, right?)
