Dan | 1 comments Hey guys,

Just looking for some books set in the not so distant future with the whole Tom Clancy plot etc. Been playing a lot of Call of Duty Black Ops 3 and would love to read some books that cover the same sort of elements. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Here's a couple.

Ghost Fleet A Novel of the Next World War by P.W. Singer

A book which has a plot mixing elements of BLOPS2 and BF4. In the future, the PRC CCP has been overthrown and replaced with another dictatorship, that decides to go to war with the USA and Russia's urging. Very sweet tech is involved.

Task Force Desperate (American Praetorians, #1) by Peter Nealen
Hunting in the Shadows (American Praetorians, #2) by Peter Nealen
Alone and Unafraid (American Praetorians, #3) by Peter Nealen
The Devil You Don't Know (American Praetorians Book 4) by Peter Nealen

Written by a veteran force recon marine, this series of books has a very similar setting to BLOPS 3, but without the bio-argumentation and homicidal artificial intelligence.
It revolves around a Private Military Corporation and their adventures in a world where every single contemporary political, social, economic and security problem has simply exploded.
In this fictional universe, the EU has gone down the crapper, the American southwest has been annexed by the Mexican Drug Cartels, the Sunni Muslim nations have united to form a terrorist sponsoring caliphate and Iran is far more proactive in furthering its interests than it is in real life.
It's dystopian fiction at its finest, a dark, warped look into a crystal ball, with a dash of alternate history thrown into the mix.
