Don't post a link to your review.
Show me your review in your post. You can just post a couple of sentences. "Book sucked donkey balls, I won't read book 2 as there was no plot etc"
But no links for me to chase down, I am begging you :D

I've decided I don't want to play this game. So I'm withdrawing from this challenge. You'll need to get a new captain.
Berit wrote: "Bummer :-( any volunteers for captain??? Are there only three of us?"
I will get you guys a replacement player in a few.
Sorry about that

I was expecting this to be sweet and pretty vanilla, and it was, but there were also quite a few moments that I wasn't expecting. Amelia was a lot less vanilla then I expected and a lot more fun. I loved the Maui setting. It really got me excited for my trip to Oahu in April...even though I don't like sand. I loved Samuel/Dude, although I have to say it was really hard for me to get past Amelia calling out Dude when they were having sex. That was really weird.
Overall the book was decent and I'll probably pick up the other books in this series as they come out. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but in a good way. I would love to read about Joely and Holt. And maybe Samuel's brother Marcus should get a happily ever after too.

I hate sand, but I love Hawaii!!!

Book

How it fits standalone
This book got off to a fantastic start, it was all kinds of WTF! Adam was confronted by a complete stranger with a secret about his wife, that will completely alter his world. You were thinking who is this stranger? How did he find out the secret? And why is he telling Adam the secret? The layers of this book repealed off slowly, and definitely kept you guessing until the very end. The problem I had with this book is at some point the pacing wasn't quite as intense, and Adam became less likable. All in all I did really enjoy this book, and would recommend it to anybody that is a fan of the thriller

Grace After the Storm by Sandy Sinnett
Qualification: standalone
Finished:1/19/16
Rating: 5/5 Stars
This romance is exciting, heartwarming and romantic, very realistic so it is easy to empathize with the characters that are are really great. There is pain, joy, desire to surrender but also want to start again. There is a beautiful metaphor of rain: the flood comes and takes away everything but, when the ground dries, there is a chance to start all over again. Hannah has to manage her Bed and Breakfast alone, has lost her parents and her great love Brad has left her eight years ago breaking her heart. Now Brad is the only one capable to help her.

This was such a great book. David had such an engaging voice that I flew through this book. So I loved the relationship between David and David. They both had some issues and insecurity and grew together. The group of friends were great too and all were trying to getting on with and mourn what happened to Hal a year ago. There were some really funny moments and some serious time. I'm looking forward to reading more about these guys.

Gunfight At Grace Gulch by Darlene Franklin

This cozy mystery was an entertaining and also instructive read: it's contemporary but with many historical references, has a well-developed plot, much humor and a little romance. The protagonist owns a vintage clothing store and becomes an amateur investigator to solve a murder during a reenactment. This is a fast-paced and clean book and has a wonderful blend of romance and mystery and believable and charming characters. It was beautiful in its cover and inside its pages.

How it fits stand alone (however I would appreciate a follow up)
I liked everything, everything, absolutely everything about this book. Madeline has a rare disease SCID, and has not left her house for over 17 years. She is pretty content with this, she has a strong relationship with both her mother and her amazing nurse Carla, and of course she has a love for books. This all changes when she sees the boy next-door move in. The relationship between them developed very cutely, with very different methods, including IM and pantomime. There were some things that didn't really make sense to me throughout this book, and then the big twist at the end, and I had clarity, it all made sense. All in all this is a book about a girl that wants to live not just be alive!!! If you like YA contemporary I would recommend this book.

I'll set up my post and get my review done before midnight PST.

Crash into Me by Tracy Wolff
Qualification:Book 1 in a series

Overall this was an enjoyable read, although a bit predictable. It dragged in parts because I was waiting for Ryder and Jamison to finally just get together. I liked both of them and the rest of the band. Jamison and Ryder had some great chemistry, but it was their deeper connection that I really liked. They knew each other better than anyone else really knew them. I loved how Jamison could see the true Ryder, even if he tried to keep that Ryder hidden.
I'm really intrigued by the other band members. I'm looking forward to Wyatt's book the most. What he goes through and puts everyone through in this book is really hard and sad. I can't say I'm sad that a certain person gets kicked to the curb and I am looking forward to meeting the person who takes their place. I can't wait to see what goes on with Jamison's brother Jared after what happened in this book and then the epilogue.

Jimmy is a drifter and something happens in the beginning for him to travel to Rattlesnake. There he meets Shane. Jimmy ends up getting a room and job at the Inn. Everyday jimmy plans to leave, but something always stops him. I liked both Jimmy and Shane. Jimmy had plenty of stories from his travels. No major drama or action in this one, just a great story with likable characters and a slow build.

Playing Dirty by C.L. Parker
Qualification: Book 1 in a Series
Finished: 1/25/16
Rating: 3/5 Stars
To be completely honest I almost DNF’d this book. I just could not connect to the characters or the story, but I read some reviews and thought I should push through. When I finished the book, I still had no connection to the characters, but I gave the book three stars because CJ Parker sure knows how to bring the heat. The sex scenes between Shaw and Cassidy are off the charts hot and those alone amplified this book. The rest was just alright and sometimes extremely annoying.
I didn’t really like Cassidy’s friend Quinn or the constant use of Daddy as his boyfriend’s name. I also got really tired of the hate between Cassidy and Shaw. Eventually you’d think that there’d be some softening between them considering how much sex they were having and some of those sexy moments turned pretty intimate, yet they still were really mean to each other. Which made the cliffhanger ending even more confusing to me. I didn’t understand why Cassidy ran without telling anyone why or why Shaw reacted the way he did.
I’ll check out the next one cause I need to know what happens and I’m looking forward to seeing Shaw and Cassidy in a different setting. I’m hoping to connect with them a bit more and to get even more sexy times. I also look forward to meeting the elusive Casey and to see what he brings to the situation.

Book

First in the series
SO, This is Co Ho's first book, and I thought for the most part it was pretty good. I really liked the slam poetry, although I would probably never do that myself, it seemed very therapeutic, and probably a fantastic way for some people to vent. I also really like the friendship between the 2 Younger boys, it was sweet. I was a little bothered by the insta Love, especially at the cost it came at. It was kind of hard to believe they went on a date, and certain things and never came up, but whatever ....
In spite of this, I am definitely going to read the next book in the series, probably sooner than later. But this book did leave me with a question, why so much death in these books? Can people not find truelove if they haven't gone through a tragedy? Or is it that we as readers don't want to read about people with perfect lives???
