Review
This is the first book I have read by Janet Evanovich that hasn't been part of the Stephanie Plum Series. I have gotten used to her quick witt and sarcasm that come along with the characters. Whilst this book has the same feel, it wasn't quite in the same quantity and I found myself growing slightly bored with the 'Who done it?.' The relationship between Kate and Matt was interesting but didn't really develop over the book the were just suddenly together, I prefer more of a challenge.

Roll 10, Spot 69: Alternative - Book Cover Green
Outpost by Ann Aguirre
Rating: ★★★★
Read: 3.22.16
Pages: 317
Review:
Outpost is the second book in the Razorland series, and while I liked the first book, Enclave more, Outpost was able to hold its own. Sometimes second books don't always do so well, I think it still held up to my expectations. There were a lot of leaps in developments for the Freaks/Muties, and also in the relationships of Deuce/Fade, Deuce/Stalker & Tegan/Stalker. There was a lot of action, and some really gruesome scenes. The ending sets up the next book really well, there's a clear point, and it'll be interesting to see how the series is wrapped up.
Week 10

Book: The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley

Review:
Precocious 11-year-old Flavia de Luce prefers to spend her days indulging her fascination with chemistry (with a special passion for poisons of all sorts) in the lab left behind in the big country house of Buckshaw by an ancestor with similar interests, occasionally emerging to continue hostilities in the never-ending war with her older sisters, vain Ophelia and bookish Daphne. This summer, however, something even more intriguing draws her away from her experiments: a dead bird on the doorstep, followed by a dead man in the cucumber patch. While the police is looking into the murder, Flavia begins her own investigation into the most fascinating thing to ever happen around Buckshaw to date.
This series has been on my TBR for ages, and I can certainly see why people love it now that I've read the first book. I always enjoy a good mystery, and Flavia is a delightful character (she goes around doctoring her annoying sister's lipstick with poison ivy, just because she can - what's not to love?). A great read, looking forward to the next part.

Review: It's been too long since I read Firelight so I was a bit fuzzy in the history with Archer. That said, this one grips you from the start and doesn't let go. I loved getting to know more about new creatures and getting a better sense of this world. As a steampunk nerd I thought the ghosts were pretty cool. I am looking forward to the rest of the series!

Can read a #7 in a series
Read #6 in a series
Read #76 in a series
Alternate: Has at least one child

I'm reading The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead.

Yeah, that's what I'm guessing.
Would be my guess too, but best check with Ezi to be sure if you want to use the alternate.
This is likely to be the last week of the game - one team has rolled over 100 this week, so if they have all their reviews in by the deadline, that'll be that (unless people want to keep going for another week to compete for 2nd and 3rd place).
I'll go with a #7 this week and read

Bummer that it'll be over so quickly. I wasn't even paying attention to the other teams!

Review: I like this series, I'm just not sure if I like the MC. This was a particularly interesting mystery, lots of twists and turns and surprises and revelations. Throughout all the drama that happens, Harry remains rigidly black and white. His actions are occasionally gray, but his expectations of those around him never waver. I prefer my "heroes" with a bit of humanity and Harry substitutes humour for humanity. But I do like the humour and the stories and I'll keep on reading the series but you think a man who had lost as much as Dresden would eventually learn to let things go.

It's been a fun game. I'm pretty sure there are a couple of teams in the 90s, so I don't think we are in the running for second or third. But we had a great team despite that, just mediocre dice rolls. :D See you all in the next challenge.
Too bad it's over so quickly, but it was great playing with you all. Looking forward to the next round already & hope to see you there! :)

Review: A good mystery. Didn't keep me guessing until the end, but there were enough twists to keep my attention. A typical Myron Bolitar ending, just open enough that we know something will come back later in the series to bite him in the ass. :D
