Lightspeed Magazine, February 2012
The page length is specified and long enough. It's issue 21. So what would that count for (if anything)?
(For a non-short story example, what about Daylighters It's double-digits but in a series?)
Also, would low-level numbers in a short-story magazine be okay? Like, for instance: Uncanny Magazine Issue 5: July/August 2015 Could that be used like a normal series?
If not, what about: The Best of Beneath Ceaseless Skies Online Magazine, Year Four. Would that be okay?
(Sorry for the endless variations. I'm a short-fiction junkie.)

It will be acceptable as long as the page numbers are sufficient. Just like anthologies: There must be a review for every single story.

Ezi, PepperP0t has decided to withdraw from the challenge, so Team 5 "High Fivers" is now one player down.

So, we are down a player and a captain ;-)"

yes first letter of first, last or middle name

D.G. wrote: "That's what I figured JoAnne (I've participated in the game many times and it's always been that way) but I'd like Ezi to confirm. ;)"
yes, Thank you JoAnne and you are absolutely right--The Starting Letter..
DG, as it states in the rules, the name must start with the letter. I am glad you reminded everyone. I will go and check the threads to make sure everyone is following that, LOL!
Example:
L:
First: Lisa Kleypas
Last: Jade Lee
Middle: R.L. Mathewson
Although next time I will remove middle initial :D

If anyone has a friend that wants to join SSS, we have space for backup players. Just let me know.
Thanks
Thanks

Prisoner of Desire
I understand that whichever way you rule, I can't turn it around and use it the other way. If you say I can use it as a standalone, then I won't try to use it as a #6 later ;-)

I'll have to say NO. Sorry but it comes up as part of a series, thus no longer a standalone.

Thanks - I really just needed the clarification of how to use it.

Cool!
Cool!

My group rolled as it should Friday. I responded that none of the books I had planned to read fit and I would come back with my selection when I was ready.
Now I went in to add my selection and realise that I didn't read the criteria properly! The book I read Saturday actually did fit the alternate criteria.
My question is if I can just add the book I read on Saturday in a completion post or do I have to read another book as I didn't make a selection post?
(The book I am planning to start tomorrow fit the criteria so I am covered whatever the you decide)

You have until the next week to choose, read and review your book. As long as it was started after the roll for week 3 you are good. My team switches books throughout the week. Sometimes we don't feel like reading what we first chose or it's not to our liking.

Like JoAnne said, any book you read AFTER a roll, is fair game. you are allowed to switch anytime as long as the book was STARTED AFTER the captain rolled :D

I know I'm not a moderator but sometimes I just have to jump in with my response.
Have a great week!

Somehow GR has changed my book from #2 in series to standalone and I swear the series number was there when I chose it on Friday or I wouldn't have chosen it.
I'm reading

I can't read another #2 by deadline and our team was already forced to use the free pass last week.

So can a person use a German edition for the book?

And before we ask, yes, somebody in my team has a 30 in a series (!)

Not me, but a team member is reading a Hamish Macbeth.

Angie,
Sorry but no :(
It doesn't qualify as the rules says it needs to be at least 50% of the cover.
