Round 7 Super Series

✸This is a team challenge that requires 1 book a week. The object of the game is to roll the dice and move along the board. To win a team must roll past 100. Teams will roll on Fridays.

✸ R7 SS Sign ups are open now through 1/11. Then teams will be formed and the game will officially start 1/15.

✸Teams will roll by clicking the dice on Fridays once their team has completed their reads. Please note you will be using two dice for each roll.

**VERY IMPORTANT**
A team can NOT advance if all reviews are not in by the deadline. That being said, players need to have their reviews in latest by Friday. Technically, a review isn't late until after Friday 11:59p. But your team captain cannot roll until ALL of the team reviews have been posted.

❖If a player fails to have their book done two times throughout the game (excluding a prearranged absence) they will no longer be a part of the team.


HOW TO PICK A BOOK:
✸ Books are based on the spot you're on not the roll of the die.
If you land on single digit spot for example let’s say you land on spot 5 then you have to read a book that's #5 in a series. For double digit numbers, for example you land on spot 48 you can read either a #4 or a #8 in a series.
✸Standalone books can be used for a 1 or a 0
✸First in a series can be used for a 1
✸I don't expect anyone to read a series out of order and for people that don't read series books that still want to play there will be an alternate option. There will be an alternate option for each spot.
✸Half books: ½ or .5 count only if they meet the page requirement AND will be judged by preceding whole number numeral on goodreads.
Example: Spot 8: A MacKenzie Clan Gathering (MacKenzies & McBrides, #8.5) would count for spot 8 because it meets the page limit.
✸ Books in multiple series can be used for ANY of the series. An example: Azagoth (1001 Dark Nights, #6; Lords of Deliverance, #5.5; Demonica, #10.5) can be used for spot 6 for 1001 Dark Nights, spot 5 for LoD or spot 10 for Demonica because it meets the page limit.


✸There will be a separate thread for captains to post their place on the board after rolling and a separate thread for captains to post a link to the teams completed reviews.

✸Teams will have a chance to earn 1 Free Pass to roll. To earn your free pass your team has to complete their reads a day before the next roll. Once your team has done this you will have 1 free pass. The free pass will allow a team to roll if they are missing a review(s) before the cutoff. Once you've used it, you can't earn another one. It's a one-time shot.
NOTE: The free pass may not be used for the win.


✸Re-reads are allowed
✸Page limit is 150
✸When using an anthology you may use any of the numbers in the book except for the .5 since this means ½. But you must review each story in the anthology.
✸Series # will be based on how GR has it listed.
✸Deadline cutoffs are based on US Central time zone

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

★ You can use any edition of the book you read.
★ Publication years, any edition so long as it is published in the given year.
★ Covers must be at least 50%
★ Cover Item, must have the given item on the cover.
★ The alternates with links are for shelves, your book must be on the given shelf.
★ New item - Text item, your book must contain the given word and need to include the sentence with it and location when posting your review. Plurals will be ok to use.
★ Locations as long as the book takes part in the given location at some point in the book.
★ Author letters, first, middle, or last name must start with the given letter. (i.e.) "L": First: Lisa Kleypas✿Last: Jade Lee✿Middle: R.L. Mathewson
★ Title letters, must be the first word in the title excluding the lead ARTICLE (The, A, An...) i.e.:
An Elephant in the Garden would be considered starting with "E"
While And the Mountains Echoed would be considered starting with "A"

FOR THOSE PLAYING BOTH
★YES, you can use the same book in both challenges.
For example: Ezi is on SS Team 1 and SSS Team 3
Week 1: SS Team 1 rolled 12 (so they can read a book 1 or 2 in a series and
SSS Team 3 rolled 2 for their first roll

Ezi is allowed to read and claimInsurgent (Divergent #2) for her SS and her SSS team if she wants.

Of course, you could always challenge yourself to read different books as I did last round :D

Qualification: Midnight Breeds Book 12 OR Title "C"

Rating & Review: ★★★½.
I am not sure if my expectations were too high, but I didn't enjoy this book like I thought I would. This one was just kind of flat.

First of all, I didn't "feel" the chemistry between Jordana and Nathan. It felt more like insta-lust, the kind you feel when a good girl meets that bad boy you know your dad would want you to stay away from. That feeling of wanting to be the one who tames that tiger. I liked Nathan and Jordana individually though. I kept waiting for the moment Elliott Bentley Squire (Jordana's boyfriend) would be revealed to be a fiend waiting to use her for evil...I am still waiting.

Also, I am baffled at where this series is going. Not knowing the true enemy and the enemies motivations didn't really get me excited. It's like now everyone is an Atlantean descendant. Are there any plan old breedmates left anymore? There are just more questions and not enough answers, so this one was just okay for me.

When using the alternate that involves cover items, colors, or publications years, please be sure to link the Correct edition to show how the book qualifies

Play On #0.5 = 1/2 . So the only place this works is if it matches something on the alternate list. Is that correct?

On the ½, I will accept A MacKenzie Clan Gathering (MacKenzies & McBrides, #8.5) for spot 8 only if it meets the page requirement.

With your example, i will accept Play On as an "0" due to the preceding numeral.

Books must be at least 150 pages per goodreads,
*Captains, please make sure the edition linked on your post is the correct one with the right page number.

Whatever you roll is it for the week, no double downs etc.

Under "Very Important": Reviews have to be in on Friday.
Very competitive teams try to have their team reviews finished and posted on Thursday so at Friday 12:01am, they can roll.

Technically, a review isn't late until after Friday 11:59p. But your team captain cannot roll until ALL of the team reviews have been posted.

Newbie question here. Do we send a link to our review directly to our team captain so that she can group them/post them for the team? Or is there a separate feed for us to post our reviews individually? Also, is it easier to cut and paste the review into a message or is a link to the review the preferred method? Thanks. Hope this makes sense.

1. Look at this Sample post
2. When you are done with your book, you will post a review similar to this one in your team thread. So make a post telling your team captain what book you plan on reading and how it fits the category. Then after you read, make a review post.
**your team captain will make a link in one big post and then report it in the Spot your spot thread.

You can always ask your captain what he or she prefers.

Quick question: item for spot 8 is: 'text item phone'. Does that mean a phone needs to mentioned within the book?
