David's 20 book 2016 reading challenge

I want to increase the amount I read this year, and discover new authors I haven't read before. I mostly read crime/thriller books, but I'm up for anything as long as it's good.

I'm currently reading In the Woods by Tana French.

In the Woods was really great, I highly recommend it.

I've now started reading The Help, as well as reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to my 1 1/2 year old son.

I read The Help last year. How do you like it?

[David]

I'm about a third of my way through at the moment. So far it's really good. There's definitely a lot more tension built up in the book than in the film adaptation, in regards to the risks taken by the characters.

It was hard for me to read. I find it hard for myself to read about black slaves. I can`t really explain why. It just makes me angry. I have never in my life thaught that i`m better just because i`m white. And the things that it`s not so far back in the past is shocking to me.
