What are you reading in 2016?
Finished
The House at the End of Hope Street which I picked up as a "blind date" with a library book. It was spectacular. I loved the house, I loved (and hated) the characters. The implication of the house and all that came with it. The renewal of strength within the women who have walked in and out of the house. A quick and easy read. There was a great following of the characters. I highly recommend, awarded 5 stars for me. Still reading.
The English Patient with the group read, I will be finishing this one up tonightalso reading
Awoken as a group read (You can still join in: Awoken Buddy Read and we even have author Sarah Noffke available in the discussion area with us) which is very intriguing. I love this concept of the Lucidites, picking up nicely and shrouded in mystery. Also reading
Token Huntress for my pen pal read! Great intro.Today I am starting
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly as it is one of those books I had never gotten around to reading.
Dale wrote: "I just finished
Wild Cat (Shifters Unbound #3) by Jennifer Ashley 6 hrs ago."Dale, what did you think of the book? I am almost finished with the first one and trying to decide if I should keep reading the series.
Finished:
- book 2 in a indepth and sometimes slow moving fantasy.
- A fun, quick read. Massive, but fast paced fantasy world.
ok so this is going to be funny , so I went out today with my Mom and sister to our local Sam's Club to pick up my mom's meds, and of curse what's happens I find a book , so my sister got it for me, even though I'm all ready reading three which are :
No One Knows by J.T. Ellison,The Sea Hunters
by Clive Cussler,
They Came Out After Dark by Chris Ward,
Lost Among the Living by Simone St. James, I just couldn't wait so I'm also reading
81 Days Below Zero: The Incredible Survival Story of a World War II Pilot in Alaska's Frozen Wilderness by Brian Murphy
Last week I read the Graceling Series which was pretty good. Glad I finally read it. I'm almost done with the Disovery of Witches series. Will soon start The Book of Life. Been meaning to read this series for a LONG time and I almsot regret not reading it sooner ^_^.
Pretty much, I'm going through my TBR list so that I actually read those instead of just finding more and more new books.
Ooh, I read the Graceling trilogy a while back and really enjoyed it! I've been reading a lot of YA fantasy so far this year. I really enjoyed the last one I read, The Wrath and the Dawn, and I thought Truthwitch was pretty good, as was An Ember in the Ashes!
So far this year I have reread the entire Dark Hunter Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon which I am addicted to. Also I started The Nick Chronicles also by Sherrilyn Kenyon but am waiting for the second book to be available at the library. I just started the Cassandra Clare series the mortal instruments.
I am on the last book available in the Kate Daniels series now.
Almost done with that..Then I am starting
,
,
I'm trying to get caught up with my NetGalleys that I was approved for. The next few I'll be getting to are:
I've recently started J.D. Tyler's Alpha Pack series. I have mixed feelings. Love the characters, though, and I keep reading them.
I've finished Caged Magic by Jennifer Lyon (book 5 in the Wing Slayer Hunter Series) which was brilliant really enjoyed the series and can't wait to see when the next book will be released.I have started Stripped Bear (novella prequel to The Last True Vampire Series) and so far its good.
Brittany wrote: "Finished
Geisha, a Life which I was intrigued by due to my fascination with geishas and the fact that this was Mineko Iwasaki's response..."Hi Brittany - I'm glad I stumbled on your note here about Geisha Life...Memoirs of a Geisha was my favorite book for a long time. I'll have to look into this.
Thanks,
Juliette
I am reading Seer of Souls by Susan Faw - I like the concept and I am enjoying what I have read so far. I was given a gift of Corrag by Susan Fletcher which I am looking forward to as I love Scottish historical novels.
Not quite sure where to place this series The Scribbler Guardian by Lucian Bane. It's not "Adult" and it's not Young Adult per say. So far this has 2 books in the series. https://www.goodreads.com/book/photo/... and the third is coming out tomorrow which I am really looking forward to reading. Actually re-read both books recently. Every genre is represented in one book and it just blows my mind how he did it.
Need help!! My sister-in-law isn't big on reading BUT she said if I can find her a good fireman book she would read it ! Dose anyone know of one? All the ones I have find are MM books not really our thing !
A true paranormal read that might give some of you a scare is "The Haunted" Ed and Lorraine Warren. Keep the lights on while reading this book. We are talking "true horror" here.
Another true paranormal read some you might like is "Haunted By The Things You Love" by John Zaffis - this is about all kinds of trinkets, etc. that are haunted - people bought stuff from yard sales, flea markets, thrift stores, and then come to find out that "something" was attached and they brought it into their home. Since reading this book, it has made me think twice of buying second hand things.
I have discovered Harry Dresden. There is no romance so to speak, well okay maybe a little but the series if fantastic. I am up to book 14 out of a 20 book series. Jim Butcher is not quite finished, so a few books need to be written yet, but I will wait as patiently as I can. If you like wizards, werewolves, vampires, fairies and everything nasty that goes bump in the night, you gotta read the Dresden Files.
Book 8 of the Southern Sanctuary series has just been released. I love Jane Cousins - her books have it all - sweet sexy romances and heaps of LOL moment and witty dialogue.Bring on the weekend - have already bribed the hubby to take the kids off my hands for a day so I can get stuck into - To Thrill A Thief
Finished up Blood Brothers
by Nora Roberts, which I loved and am now starting on The Accidental Werewolf
byDakota Cassidy.
Recently finished
by Matt Kincade. It is an excellent Vampire Hunter vs Vampire action story set against the backdrop of the south west US.
Builds very well and has some great twists and turns.
I'm still working on Rock Chick Reckoning
by Kristen Ashley on my kindle and I've started Spider's Bite
by Jennifer Estep in paperback.
I'm halfway through Veiled by Karina Halle. It's wonderful so far. Demons and romance and a creepy nun. Can't get much better than that!
Waiting on Book Two of the Fate of the Vampire series by Christine Church. https://www.amazon.com/Early-Scrolls-...
Waited (impatiently) for this one, but it's now on preorder (yay!):
I've read and re-read books 1 & 2 (which are free right now, if any of you want to read them and talk about them with me!)
Aloha friends,I haven't been active in this group because of my indie author pursuits. I am looking for a few people who will give me a review of my paranormal romance, mystery/suspense, Crystal Clear.
It's about a Pittsburgh psychotherapist who moves into a Victorian house, gazes into a crystal ball, and discovers her own death in the 1940's in this SAME HOUSE. Her journey to find her past life killer ultimately leads her to the island of Kauai, where her wounded heart finds healing.
If that piques your interest and you have time in the next 6 weeks to read and post an Amazon review, I will gratefully send you a Kindle or Nook version free (via Smashwords).
.Thanks, you all. And happy reading. As we say on the islands, mahalo nui loa.
This book is part of a 4 part series - very creepy so far - finished the 1st book - getting ready to read the 2nd one in the series
I'm finally reading Slave to Sensation
by Nalini Singh and loving it! I don't know why I kept putting this one off.
I'm just finishing up
by Naomi Novik, which has been an incredible read. I just started a (sorta) cozy mystery
which I'm a bit undecided about so far. Once I'm done with Uprooted I plan on starting
.
Finished
Love the series but feel like this book was spinning its wheels. Maybe time to wrap these adventures up.
Currently I'm reading
by Kay Finch, which is a really cute cozy mystery.
by Shelly Laurenston, which I'm also enjoying. Some of the supporting characters are a little irritating but the romance is solid. I also just started
by Jennifer L. Armentrout which is the prequel to
. I'm reading Shadows for the Ultimate Reading Challenge this year... :)

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown - YA, different take on vampires. thought it could've been a series or cut to a short story.
The Defiant Hero - SEALS romantic suspense.
The King's Blood - book 2 in a series. Good fantasy, a lot of intrigue and politicking.
Brotherhood in Death - Newest in a huge series, futuristic, police procedural romantic susupense.
The Handmaid's Tale - depressing, yet thought provoking like a good dystopian sci-fi.
The Dragonbone Chair - first in a classic fantasy series.
