Sarbi | 173 comments All of us are PR/UF fans but I´m sure you´ve read one more than the other even if just to a smaller degree. Which is it? And whats the last book you read of the genre? Personally I´ve read a bit more UF, but the last book I read was a Paranormal romance.

CJ | 4 comments Wow...I would have to go back and look, but I think I've read more UF by just a few. The last book I read was UF, Wild Things by Chloe Neill.

Katharine Sadler | 51 comments I've read considerably more UF. The last book I read was Dying for a Living by Kory M. Shrum .

Richard E. (richardejohns) | 69 comments last book Biting Bad Chloe Neill. probably more Paranormal than Urban Fiction.

I'd have to say I'm more of a paranormal romance lover. The endings tend to be happier IMO.

Christine Gabriel (christinegabriel) | 4 comments I'm a huge fan of paranormal romance! In fact, I need to find a new one to start reading!

Angela Dossett (whisperingwillo) | 376 comments I'm more of a paranormal romance lover, but I do like Urban Fantasy. I just love to read whatever catches my fancy. Cheers!!!!

Sarbi | 173 comments Funny, the last one I read PA was really sad but it does redeem itself. But it was a cute ending loved it.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 67 comments I prefer PNR to UF.

Neilinha Ribeiro | 7 comments I have to say I'm a bigger fan of PNR

message 13: by Tricia (new)

Tricia Cato (Swankything2) | 61 comments Paranormal

message 14: by Rachel Annie (new)

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) I've read more PNR, but have a bunch of UF's on the TBR shelf I've been meaning to get to.

message 15: by G.G. (new)

G.G. (ggatcheson) | 118 comments I honestly don't know. Sometimes these two genres blend so much together that I don't really pay attention nor do I care. I love them both as long as there's a good plot.

message 16: by Marti (new)

Marti Melville | 22 comments I didn't realize the book series I've written was considered a paranormal romance series until my agent (at that time) gave it that genre label. Since then, I've been fascinated (and pleasantly surprised) by the quality of PNR books out there.

I'm definitely a new fan of PNR!

message 17: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Basile (smashreads) I read way more UF... mostly because I get agitated after reading a few PNR books... so I have to read them sparingly. I love a little love story, but man, some of the PNR's just go ON... and on.. and on... with the "we can't seem to get together even though we are in love" nonsense... so I have to read 3 UF series to every 1 PNR to keep myself sane.

HA! I get that!

message 19: by Cmkage (new)

Cmkage | 46 comments I prefer uf and it's what I mostly read. But there are a few pnr series (IAD for example) that I absolutely love.

Last book I read was uf. Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop

message 20: by Sonya (new)

Sonya Heaney I’ve read more paranormal romances, but many of my favourites are urban fantasy (Mercy Thompson, for example).

It’s because so many authors seem incapable of creating a strong UF heroine who isn’t also nasty and unnecessarily violent – and a total Mary Sue with super-duper unique powers and a hundred men in love with her!
Also, because while I don’t need romance at the centre of the story, I do need some acknowledgement that “human” emotions happen even in crazy situations!

message 21: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 80 comments I also prefer UF. PR gets to predictable and annoying. I last read Tempting Danger which I thought was UF but seems to be PR. Hate when that happens.

Hm, I think the World of the Lupi series is one of those series that are a mix of both pnr and uf.

message 23: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Bolen (jadeaaustin) I like both equally, a UF just doesn't seem complete without a little love interest somewhere in the series. And if there isn't a nice bit of world building a PR is just boring. Last I read was a little more UF than PRRed-Headed Stepchild, and the one I'm reading Immortal Ridernow swings the opposite way with PR being the dominant element with a little UF support. My requirement are I have to actually like the main characters, and I have to like the writing.

message 24: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 67 comments I like some UF. The main characters have to be likeable; and I really am not a fan of a great deal of violence and blood, all described in great, gory detail. Unfortunately that alone often rules out UF (and most RS, too) for me.
