I finished it today and loved it...and admit I cried like a baby more than once!

Sexy hot and wonderfully sweet

Bayou Bear Chronicles series by Lila Felix - Paranormal shifter series that started off pretty interesting and promising but (in my opinion) fell flat the following books after. Still putting it out in case any other shifter fans might end up liking it more than I did.

============================================

The 2nd book was a lot better and the writing flowed much more smoothly. Although I wouldn't say I "love" the MC (Integrity 4 Ever :P), I did find her a lot more easy to connect and thought the depth of the character showed a lot better in this book than the first.
The story was very interesting and definitely has me looking forward to the 3rd book.

(Warning - this is an epic fantasy, but really good. Also, due to a few reviews, I thought this was some sort of modern day take of things with a heavy metal band. It's not. lol. It took me part of the first chapter to really let go of that preconceived notion and just allow myself to enjoy the book)

Love overcomes, again
My Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Liv Carmichael is the co-anchor in Washington D.C., trying to make a spot for herself and name for herself. T.C Thorpe is the top Washington correspondent with the same network and a huge thorn in Liv's side, always stealing her chances of top stories from her. Both very ambitious, professional and headstrong. Thorpe is good looking and arrogant. Thorpe has been attracted to Liv for a long time. Major stories in their profession causes them to be together a lot. Tensions, attractions and romance boils between them. I enjoyed the characters and the story line. Again...got bored of the constant dialogue of lighting up of Thorp's cigarette. A fun, fast read. 4 stars

Olivia Bennett is a biographer and has been invited by Molly, Eleanor Callaway's best friend to come to San Francisco to write about the older women's story and secret. Colton Callaway has been put in charge from his grandfather to keep this writer away from Eleanor. Eleanor, suffering from the beginning stages of Alzheimer gets easily agitated and Colton's grandfather claims he doesn't want her upset. There are secrets galore with these women and in this family. Molly who has suffered a stroke right before Olivia's arrival can't tell the story, but Eleanor, on her good days, wants it to be told. This is an amazing, suspenseful, romantic story. One of the best in the series. The characters are so strong and believable and story line will amaze you. More than 5 stars

Yes I think I will. I truly enjoyed the first book, the ending was just a tad abrupt for me. I have started the second book already.

Burke is the oldest Callaway son and has always been an over achiever, elusive and troubled. He closed off his heart after the death of his fiance' 3 years ago in a tragic and suspicious automobile accident. An acquaintance from his past has out of the blue shown up into his life, crashing in, as is so typical Mattie. Mattie Heller is fleeing from an ex-fiance who took all of her hard earned money to pay off gambling debts. He now is calling her for more money and has loan sharks after her. Mitch Warren is a fire chief where Burke's brother Colton works. Mitch has hated Burke and had a vengeful vendetta against him since Leanne's death. Mitch claims is was Burke's fault she died. Now he has hired a private investigator to get all the details of her death. Fists are flying, places are burning, dead flowers are showing up and Mattie and Burke are trying to put it all together. Their attraction for each other that has been pushed aside for years is blooming though it all. This is the last in the series and the ride has been spectacular. I have enjoyed the suspense, mystery, romance, love of family and lost loves coming together. Excellent series!! 5 stars

The first book in the Rodeo Knights series. Carly has taken over the family business of a cattle rancher with prize bulls for rodeos. She is being targeted by some unknown person or business, finding her bulls sick and now one dead. Jesse Knight is a former marine police officer and a retired bull rider who is now trying to find out who is threatening Carly's livelihood, some of her work hands and herself. They are trying to put together who would dislike Carly so much to poison her and her livestock. Working close together has sparked an irresistible attraction for the two of them. The characters are strong, well established. This was a fun, suspenseful, romantic quick read. 5 stars

In book # 2 Michael Knight is leaving his ranch to help his brother to go undercover to help find out who is sabotaging the rodeo circuit by poisoning rodeo animals. Michael has retired from the rodeo but is coming back to cover as a bullfighter. Bella is trying to make her way in the bull riding circle after her father disgraced himself years before and Bella having to compete against some sexist male bull riders. Bella is finding that someone is tampering with her equipment and horses she rides. The two of them need to find out if it is all tied into the poisoning or if someone just wants to get the female rider out of the circuit. Feelings start to grow between them but Michael has no desire to follow the circuit again, and Bella's ride is just starting. This was a good book to read although I felt Michael's character was rather vague and sappy for being a big male bull rider. I expected him to be more macho. 4 stars

A typical rag to riches story where John Callister doesn't feel the need to tell the community that he is a multimillionaire taking over some property him and his brothers have just purchased. Sassy is a poor 19 year old (to John's 31) working in the store of a sexual harasser trying to care for her mother dying of cancer and a small child who they took under their wings. Jake and Sassy become taken with each other even after she discovers he is richer than dirt. I have read other Diana Palmer books and have enjoyed them. I found this one very unrealistic (a 19 and 31 year old?) and the dialogue between the characters was so "sappy". Thank goodness it was a short story. It just didn't come together for me. 2 stars
