Lol! Yes! Some really great books haunt our tbr lists because we know they're gonna be good but just can't seem to get to them. GR has been really helping me with that. Uh, and inflating my tbr exponentially. :P

That's worth a celebration, Vero!

I often wonder why we put off books that we know are going to be good. For me, I think it has to do with always wanting to save the best for later. Hoarding at its finest. :)

message 53: by Veronique (new)

Veronique I think I kept putting it back because I was worried I might not like it. Silly really.

I completed my second Level 1 - Grab a Spoon challenge this week!

Gail Carriger - Finishing School Series
✔ 1. Etiquette & Espionage
✔ 2. Curtsies & Conspiracies
✔ 3. Waistcoats & Weaponry
✔ 4. Manners & Mutiny

Completed: 4/4

Veronique Nice Allison! I've read and enjoyed the first one.

Renee - the InDeath are good fun - crime thrillers set in a near future, easily recognisable as ours but with some new technology. It is not alienating and actually not the main focus, which is instead on inspector Eve Dallas and Roarke. We see their relationship grow throughout the novels, but also a growing recurring cast. So 80% crime solving 20% 'romance'

Confession...

I've been diligently reading my way through a couple of series and forgetting to update here. *hangs head*

Guess I need to get on that before the ball drops!

Level 3: Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!

I reread the first 10 books of the Aubrey-Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian. These books are just wonderful! Especially if you enjoy the Nineteenth Century. (Which, of course, I do.) ;-D

Master and Commander
Post Captain
H.M.S. Surprise
The Mauritius Command
Desolation Island
The Fortune of War
The Far Side of the World
The Surgeon's Mate
Treason's Harbour

I intend to read the last 10 books of the series for this challenge in 2017.
