i did 8 0f 10 books best i could do with a busy year so pleased with myself most previous years i get 2 or 3 read :)
I had a lot of DNFs last year so I'm lower my goal to accommodate the number of books I am now okay with giving up on. 100 books in 2016.
My goal for 2015 was 95 and managed to read 102 books. I've set my goal for 2016 again at 95. Fingers crossed I will go beyond that again.
In 2014 my goal of 212 was a struggle to meet. Feeling so much pressure last two months to push they books so fast, took away a lot of the pleasure. Fir 2015 I scaled back to 120 books as my goal. I actually read 206. I liked meeting my goal early and then just reading for pleasure. With that in mind my new goal fir 2016 is 150 books. Happy reading everyone.
My goal was 36 and I´ve reachead it. Counting manga and comics, I´ve read 234.For this year, my goal is 153, not counting manga and comics.

How about you..."That's great Joseph! I only reached half of my goal of 24 books last year. I'm shooting for the am this year. I used to read so much, but when I went back to school to work on my Master's it's become difficult to read for pleasure. I'm hoping this year will be different, and that I'll exceed my goal of 24.
In 2015 my goal was 50 books and i had read 55 by the end of the year. I am part of another group and this year i have pledged to read 52 books and listen to 36 audiobooks. However like Lin i became stressed in November that i would not meet my goal. Instead i read a childrens book and one of the new ladybird books for adults to catch up.
I had a goal of 200, read 145. This year I am backing it down to 150. I have several large books I would like to read this year so we will see how it goes.

I know what you and Lin mean. For me, it was in August that I wasn't so confident I would reach my goal. I was only at 60% finished, so I changed my goal from 332 to 275.
But then in November, I did reach that goal of 275 books. And at the end of the year I ended up passing that original goal. But yeah, there was a bit of stress there that really should have been, so I'm just going to aim for 300 and let the chips fall where they may.

I reached my goal of 125 last year, but looking back, I noticed that much of it was manga. Not that I have anything against that, but it doesn't really have the same weight as a novel. :)This year, I'm scaling back to 100 books and not counting any manga/graphic novels. I also don't usually read anything in November, because I participate in NaNo, so I need to scale things to fit into 11 months.
I generally try to aim my page average for the year to be 250 pages per book or above, which means that I need to balance most the of poetry I read with a 400+ page fiction or non-fiction. :D
Brian - I never read anything less then 300 pages. Most of my books are between 300-480 pages. That is probably the reason why I only read 55 books last year.
I'm aiming for 100 books in 2016. I've already read 3 almost finished with my 4th. The books I read can go anywhere from 100 to over a 1000 pages.
My reading goal in 2015 was 50 books and I reached my goal. I'm starting this year off slow with 25 books, but I know I'm going to reset my reading goal to 60 as I get closer to my first goal of 25 books.
4 books behind scheldule :D It kinda makes me happy. I´m reading couple of books I´m really enjoying so it doesn´t bother me
I'm a little bit ahead of schedule and should be finishing two more books from my challenge this week. This is the first challenge I've done with a group. It's given me great motivation to get through the books I've chosen - once I have a list in front of my I don't want to "relax" until I've checked everything off of it. Which is a good and an annoying thing at the same time.
I'm 20 books ahead of schedule. That's never happened to me before, I actually didn't start the year with reading lag like usual...
Got my quarterly update on reading...We're a quarter of the way through 2016—let's check in on your 2016 Reading Challenge. Congrats, you're ahead of schedule!
You've read 10 of 30 books. (33% complete).
I'm 1 book behind schedule at the moment, I've read 30 of a 110 goal -- in my defense, I've been doing a metric shitton of theatre since February and I'm actually impressed that I've been keeping up with reading as well as I have.

I've read 98 of my 300 books, which puts me at 33% done and 13 books ahead of schedule. Right on pace for myself.
Year is halfway through, and I'm more than halfway to my goal, 57% to be exact with 171 of 300 books.
I just looked and I'm 9 books ahead. Yippie! If I can finish the book I'm reading tonight I will have all the books I need to stay on track for September done.
Last year I read 106, 6 over goal but this year has been a strange one so I've read only 35 books. I really struggled with reading the first few months of the year but I seem to be reading almost back to normal now.
I think I'm on pace to go way past my goal. I'm currently at 271
books out 300 completed which puts me at 72 books ahead of schedule. If I somehow keep this up, I think I'll end up finishing somewhere around 390 books read this year. Wow.

I love how you've surprised yourself this year. ;-D
I'm still pretty happy. My reading has slowed down a little over summer but hopefully picking back up. I'm 75% through with goal.

Sorry I didn't answer your question sooner, but in any case, I manage to read so many by way of a combo of a couple of things.
1. Pretty much I read whenever I have the time and being a bachelor means I have plenty of free time for just me.
2. To be honest, I'm a skim reader, I don't seem to read every word which leads to 3. I pretty much read at a rate of 100 pages per hour, so finishing a 300 page book is easy to do every evening. I often set up my weekend as Saturday is for chores and errands and Sunday for just reading, so I can sometimes finish three books in one day easily.
4. Being a librarian doesn't hurt, reading is part of the job. :-)

End of October and I'm up to 330 which means I've been averaging 33 books a month so far this year. I wonder if I can keep that up for just two more months and end up with 390 for the year. Time will tell. :-)
I finished book 96 of 100 last night. I have four books in the works so I should hit my goal very soon. The rest will be icing on the cake.
