Maybe it was one of the Patrick Burston books.
Maybe it was one of the Patrick Burston books. Was it similar to the Where's Waldo/Wally books with full color pages? And, there was a list of items to find?
When you say "from my childhood" when would that be -- 1950s, 1960s, 1970s...? Do you recall if it was a new book at the time, or an older one?

Tab - It was not Patrick Burston although I did enjoy those greatly. It was like Where's Wally and from what i can remember there was a list of items on each page.

I have been looking for a book from my childhood. I will describe as best as I can.
It is a puzzle/adventure picture book set in a house/mansion/hall. Very similar to Usbourne puzzle books however i am convinced the artwork was vastly more detailed. The book (from what i can remember) had a victorian/edwardian/pre WW1 feel to it. You had to hunt for clues/lost items around the house and there were many other puzzles and such on each page. Each double page was a picture of a different room in the house. The perspective was from 2 children - a girl and a boy and i am pretty sure the house belonged to a relative of them.
Details of the book I remember are -
The bathroom was a lavish victorian-esk bathroom/ pool and one of the item the lady on the page had lost was a soap on a rope.
There was a page outside the house and it was covered in ivy and there was an item/clue in the ivy.
I can't remember much more but will answer any questions.
Please help this is driving me slightly insane!
