May Review-Copy Clean-Up Challenge.
Because this challenge is basically the same as April's review-copy challenge, any books started in April and finished in May will also count for the May challenge ☺
I think i will just have to join in with yall. I have a few on netgally I am working on to get my percentage up and also i am behind on my read and reviews in one of my goodreads groups. And have many more I wish to review.

Yes ☺ I'll update the list on May 1st cause hopefully I'll get a couple more read too ☺ I have no idea when I'll get round to beautiful creatures, but it might not be until the end of May. Can I let you know closer to the date when I'll be able to read it? Having to take a week long break is really throwing me!

I got dangerous creatures so I have to read the beautiful creatures series first or it will make no sense whatsoever.
Sarah wrote: "I got dangerous creatures so I have to read the beautiful creatures series first or it will make no sense whatsoever."Oh okay then. I only have the first one and I just bought it from the shops. :)
Sarah wrote: "I've been meaning to read them for ages anyway so it seemed like a good idea!"Same so yes, a good idea!! :) Have you seen the movie? :)
Sarah wrote: "Not yet. I bought it but wanted to read the book first ☺"Yeah, same here. I never, ever watch a movie before reading the book. It drives my friends insane when we got to go the cinema and I won't watch anything because it was based on a book I haven't read! :)
Sarah wrote: "I never find time to go to the cinema anyway. I still haven't seen the host, or city of bones."I refuse to see City of Bones because I have heard nothing but the absolute worst things about it from friends of mine that have seen it. The Host was great however and I have it on DVD. I've watched it like fifty thousand times! :)
I really need to get a copy! I don't get to watch much TV really though, only thomas the tank engine and disney channel!
yes! it's 'abney and teal' today! (and what's annoying is that it's not the blue one that's called Teal!
I still need to watch City of bones, The host, Beautiful creatures, Divergent. I have a copy of catching fire but still haven't got round to it!

The only one of those I've seen is catching fire!

We're so far behind, haha! It's a good job i haven't read The book thief otherwise there would be another on the list!

I don't like the sound of that. war and history bother me. it's why i can't bring myself to read

The book thief didn't appeal to me either. There's a couple of others that are coming out movie wise, and i'm glad i haven't read some of them because it adds more movies to list to buy!
The Book Thief is good. I got dragged into the movies even though I haven't read the book. I absolutely loved the Catching Fire movie. I was iffy on the Hunger Games but thought this one was 100% better. I haven't seen Divergent and I'm not going to because I hate all of the actors in it.
I haven't seen divergent. i might get round to it at some point maybe. if i get it for £1 at a car boot i might watch it!
I'm not spending much money on divergent either. I liked the first book, but the movie looks rubbish.
City of bones doesn't look much good either.
The actors that play in beautiful creatures do not look right for the roles at all. :(
Okay, I am going to copy Sarah's idea and post my list of r2rs I have that I still haven't read. Let me know if you're interested in a buddy:
I like looking at the lists! It's even better every time you can move one from the 'to-read' list to the 'read' list! Makes me feel like I'm making progress!
My read list is now longer than my to-read list for Aprils challenge thankfully ☺

. I don't know if can read it beforehand or not but if you can then I'll read it with you. :)
I've read them both before but I will re-read it with you if you want? it's pretty short if I remember rightly, but not as good as the first book ☺
Sarah wrote: "I've read them both before but I will re-read it with you if you want? it's pretty short if I remember rightly, but not as good as the first book ☺"Nah its okay then. Thought you might want to if you hadn't already but I'm not that desperate to read it. I have plenty of other that I need to read first. Thanks anyway. :)
Guys, if anyone wants to read
for the GBR, I originally had a review copy, so if you join the GBR you could count it for this challenge ☺
(unfortunately I can't say the same for the other two GBRs though!)

So, I read an ARC but I just couldn't connect with the characters and the story and am thinking to DNF it. It will be my first DNf but it's just too painful and am not in the mood to read it again. Can I still include it for 2 challenges? And how do I tell the author/the publisher that I can't read it anymore. Have you guys in this situation before?
I think last time I said that as long as you had read 25% and wrote.a.review it would count for this challenge, it won't count for the other challenges though.
Just write a review explaining why you didn't like it, and submit that, as long as you're giving feedback it's fine ☺
Which book is it?
Oh when you submit your review on the review thread, just adjust the page count to roughly how far you.read.

This is a reading challenge that will run from May 1st to May 31st. Results will be announced on June 1st 2014.
Please note:
- this is not the main group challenge for May, this is a challenge for those people who are struggling with those review piles! There will be a seperate challenge for everyone else so not to worry!
This challenge is simple, and has one aim - get those review copies read! This obviously means that you will have to have review copies to take part in this challenge - either from Netgalley, Edelweiss, Publisher, Author, ARR programme etc.
Normal challenge guidlines and rules apply.
points:
1 point for each book read and reviewed
1 point for a buddy read (feel free to use our Wanted: Buddy Reads ARC thread if you need to - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... )
Equaliser points (applied at the end) - 5 additional points for every 1000 pages read.
Note:
*Books need to either be review copies, or I will also allow books which are first/second in a series before a review copy that you need to read, so for example - I have
* Books must be at least 100 pages in lenth
* Books must be read between May 1st and May 31st (inclusively)
*You can find our regular challenge rules here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
*This challenge is exactly the same as April's Review Copy Challenge.
*Points from April's challenge will NOT be carried over. Everyone will be starting from zero points on May 1st.
*Because this challenge is basically the same as April's review-copy challenge, any books started in April and finished in May will also count for the May challenge ☺
There will be one winner who gets the most points, but obviously everyone wil benefit from getting those review piles down!
Good luck Everybody! Let's get those review piles beaten into submission ☺
Sign-ups and Questions go here, I will open a seperate thread for reviews.
