I hadn’t set foot in the human world for more than a few hours in over three and a half months. Sure, I was stronger and faster than I’d ever been before, and I had a shiny new sword, but I was seriously chocolate deprived. I don’t recommend quitting cold turkey. And the new sword was a problem — to my mind, anyway. It represented all the expectations of a powerful father ...more

It's here, it's here!

Last night I baked cupcakes in honor of the release of book 3. I shared most of them. But not all. :-P

...............................

So, I kind of screwed myself over on this one. I actually finished it quite a while ago (I seriously started reading it right after it was released). Unfortunately I had a lot of other commitments at the time, including some book commitments for clubs etc., so I wasn't able to read this without interruption from other stories. I think this is a

Loved it. I thought for a minute there that this could have been a trilogy but its not. Thanks goodness. A lot happened in this book and while I could write everything i might leave something out but this was by far the best yet and gladly there is more to come.

4.5 Stars... I really enjoyed this read from start to finish... The entire story seems to amp up in this addition to the series; Jade has spent three months in the dragon nexus absorbing all the information she can and training for the battle to come with her sister... Once back on the earthly realm, Jade reunites with old friends and new allies, and the action packed adventure begins culminating in an epic war with the convergence of all supernatural entities... Jade appears to start coming int ...more

Is Jade’s training enough to dead with Sienna? And how many more must die before she is stopped?

This was a good third instalment in this urban fantasy series, and I am still lusting after those cupcakes!

Review:
This was the book in the series that really hooked me. Obviously I was enjoying the series or I wouldn't have continued reading/listening, but this was the one where it went from good to great for me. So far, every book in this series has had a great plot, building intensity, a bit of humor, and a really cool world and magic system involving all sorts of supernatural creatures. But the characters have grown on me more and more with each book. I love that Jade is feminine and emotio

I loved this book, it picked up where the second stopped and had me hooked! The connections and emotional development of each character was already so solid and now we get an even closer look into their lives. I love the laugh out loud moments that catch me by surprise and esp. the deep desire and crave for chocolate, lol. This book was a much more emotional and personal journey for all the characters making it my fave of the three.
This is one of my favorite series and I hope that it continues.

I am so in love with this series I almost can't stand it. I don't think she can write them fast enough to satisfy my intense craving for the world, the main character Jade, the lore...all of it. This one was so very good. All the good things: epic fights, battles between sisters...which made me cry along with Jade, by the way...watching Jade come into her power, the entire concept of dragons, which should be enough for anyone right there because, dragons! This story has it all, plus cupcakes! An ...more

Loved the third installment in the series, it picked up were it left off in book two. Loved that this was all substance and no smut (not that I wasn't thinking of MCGrowly in the naughty way), this was all about the story and what a story it is.

See I get migraines from Chocolate so this series was hard for an ex-chocolate addict seeing all the good chocolate bars that she picked up along the way. And don't even get me started on all the wonderful Cupcakes she made through out the whole series..

I have loved these books, I think they're fun, easy to read, and entertaining. That being said this was my least favorite. Nothing happened. A hot guy comes in (again) and barely anything happens (again) and while I love that the female lead isn't a sappy whiney girl like most in novels, she is throwing herself a 2 book long pity party. I hope the next book is better.

"I sure as hell don't know who I actually am yet-"
"That's easy. You're Jade. You're cupcakes, trinkets, and deadly magic."

Those two line basically describe Jade's life up through this book. She is still finding out who she is and what she is capable of. Plus finding out the same one all other adepts.
I like how this story is progressing and I'm going on to book four now.

I thought in the last book Jade had come into her own and would eventually become the strong willed heroine everyone wanted. That spending time with her father in the Nexus would change her for the better. It didn't. Three months have passed since book two, and Jade has decided to traveled back to the human world to find Blackwell, and her bloodthirsty foster sister.

All of my hopes for the MC's potential flew right out the window anytime Sienna came into the picture. Jade has never been the brig

Gosh, this book was mentally exhausting! Poor Jade just cannot catch a break. She’s still very much mourning the loss of her sister, even though she is still alive (and very evil), she’s still getting used to the fact that she has found her mysterious father, and, as always, she’s got the weight of the world on her shoulders because of some catastrophic vision the dragons shared with her. Throw all this together, and there are just buckets of bad decisions jammed in this one book. Luck for us al ...more

This review is for the whole series, It's rather generic but does say why I enjoyed it.

Great Series. Started the 1st on December 9th, then went into a binged all the others and today 2/7/18 I start Unleashing Echoes, the last so far involving Wisteria. the reconstructionist.

1st reason - I've enjoyed this series is I really like the main characters and their friends. I've found for me, if I don't like the people I'm reading about I don't enjoy the story. Her characters are complex with flaws but

This certainly started a bit different with the added twist from the ending of the second novel. But it was good. Some parts moved slowly. And the big event in the middle of the story felt like the epic climax, more so than the ending climax. I almost thought the book was over in the middle!

But that said, Kett's antics always save the day for me. I love how Jade perceives him. I was sad that Desmond only entered in the second half of the novel. Things were definitely different in this novel.

The sister from hell

Awesome. She's been training with the dragons for over three months but has now sneaked away to try and find her sister and stop her. Drake, the teenage dragon, follows her as she makes her way to the sorcerer who has already betrayed her once. At his castle they meet up with more companions. What the sorcerer tells them has them completely out of their depth. Her sister is going to be raising demons! Battles, broken life bonds, demons, two new weapons and death follow as the

I’m not even sure why I find these books so enjoyable. I can’t tell if it’s the whole magic world the author created, the side characters, or that it’s just so easy and fun to read... maybe the cupcakes. I gave it 4 stars only because there were a few things that bugged me. I still hate the whole product placement thing. I don’t care what kind of jeans Jade’s wearing or how expensive her shoes are. I feel like those details are a bit unnecessary. Also some some of the relationships bother me. Th ...more

Too much chocolate

I cannot believe how much sugar and chocolate this girl eats. I get that she has a supernatural metabolism and blah blah blah, but doesn't she also need to eat protein? Like, basic biological building block of muscle and all that, but I guess she also has supernatural muscles that don't need protein to build strength. I had some serious chocolate cravings while reading this book, I consumed an entire jar of Trader Joe's fudge sauce and a "share size" bag of M&M's. So, I hav

Definitely a 4 star book.

I enjoyed it from start to finish and really enjoy the slightly darker side of this story. The relationships and characters are developing nicely and I especially love the difference in Jade and her grandmothers relationship. I did feel that Jade was complaining a bit to much at some points during the story, but I guess it's understandable considering having to fight at this level against someone who is your family.

Overall I really enjoyed this read and can't wait to s

Okay, four stars... it is pretty good, I want to read more, I even like the whole sometimes cliche vampire-werewolf combo surrounding her.

I am not... well, I read series I was more impressed by but at the same time, this series does not lack much and had many good things going on. Just... 9 books - that is a true test of how good is this really. (But, unlike with Kate Daniels, here I would actually welcome more romance, even if there are 9 books and it should be definitely slow-burn. But with Ka

I was so torn giving this book four stars, it started off so slow, and I wasn't really sure what was happening. The story went real slow there was a lot of discussion on the same topic and it seemed liked we were going around in circles.

And then it got exciting, there was movement and the story started to move forward and it took me back to the first book that hooked me. I am debating if I will purchase the next book or not.

It all came together

The growth of the characters finally came to a head and kept me turning the pages until I was finished. Growth and pacing were perfect and I enjoyed every page.
