Mortal Instruments is a must read - the story between Clary and Jace is heartbreaking.
I read the trilogy Captaincow mentions (Ruby Red) in German last year. AWESOME! Funny, witty, strong female lead and a real twist at the end. I was sorry when it ended. I'm looking into buying a boxset of Vampire Academy very soon. I've read so many good things about it.

You should try Hush Hush and the Dark Devine
Here's an whole list of YA Paranormal Romance books that you might find interesting.

No prob.
i heard hush hush was amazing from my sister so im probably going to read that soon too!

I love the S.Stackhouse series (just finished the 11th one last night, actually), but just a word of warning to the OP: it's VERY different from the Twilight saga. I started reading the series after finishing Twilight and had a hard time getting used to Harris's vampires. There are similarities, but Harris portrays her vampires pretty differently--and her books are MUCH edgier (with graphic sex, for one). Once you get used to that, though, it's so easy to be transported into Sookie's world. I adore this series.

Reese wrote: "I would label myself usually as a non-reader, But every since the twilight series that i devoured I am yearning for more action, romance and creating writing. Can anyone help me out on another seri..."

I would reccomend:
1. House of Night by P.C adn Kirsten Cast
2. Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris
3. Harper Connely by Charlaine Harris (if you are looking for supernatural but not vampires and werewolves etc)
4. Hush Hush by Becca Fritzpatrick
5. Fallen by Lauren Kate
6. Vampire Diaries

I too enjoyed the Twilight series and I am now reading Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series. I just started the 3rd book in the series and I am really enjoying them. Like in the Twilight series, I feel like I'm getting to know the characters. There is a lot more going on in this series though. There is a lot of blood and gore, which after a while, doesn't seem to phase you. Like Bella, Edward, and Jacob....I want to see what happens with the 3 main characters in this series.

Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare (Nephilim)
Iron King series by Julie Kagawa (Fairies)
Fallen series by Lauren Kate (Fallen Angels)..."
very good choices i loved all these books, but i would also liked to add Clockwork Angel that is also by Cassandra Clare. oh and Stephenie Meyer did love the mortal instrument series.

Totally agree, took me while to want to read anything else, was so smitten with the series, but Vampire Academy was awesome. I also loved Queen Betsy series and Asling Grey serious - You Slay Me (more about dragons) - these are more adult :)

It is such a great series. Love the family, especially Lucian.

I loved all those books except I haven't read the last two books. But the ones before that were amazing in my opinion!

Strange Angels
Vampire Diaries
The Mortal Instruments
Evernight
House of Night
The Host
and Harry Potter.
I found all of those series to be very exciting. (And addicting.)

I agree... Harris explains why the vampires do what they do.. historically...emotionally... it's very intense and YES very graphic...It's like a melting pot of sex...lust....love...hunger...anger...dabaugery...and more all rolled into one... ( and ofcourse.. Lafayette has a limited role in the book)

I loved this series, they were the best to quench my thrist after twilight and Im gutted that the last book will be out next year...

Abigail Owen has begun a new series. The first is Blue Violet. She is working on #2 and will have it out shortly. She's a new writer, but she's going to be a star.
