They're both great books. I can't say I really liked one over the other. Dark Places is more memorable but probably because I saw the movie recently.
I'll be interested to see what both of you think of them :)

I read Sharp Objects this year. I really enjoyed it and the end was completely unexpected. I hope you enjoy it too
I can't wait to see how you like this book. I loved Gone Girl too and wonder how her other books are.
I just finished the book last night.I was pleasantly enthralled in it!!!
I started it on Thursday as I finished my Week 3 book early....and I couldn't put it down.
I enjoyed it more than I did Gone Girl, not that Gone Girl was bad - it was just hard to get through the first few chapters.
But I really did enjoy this book very much!!
I'm reading this one for week 18. I read Gone Girl a few years ago and really liked it. I've also read Dark Places and it was an ok book, but nothing overwhelming in my opinion. I'm about halfway through Sharp Objects. I'm enjoying it so far.
I just finished this! I chose it for week 43. I used Dark Places for week 4, after having read Gone Girl back in 2015.I really liked this one. I more or less had it figured out by about halfway through, but I wasn't entirely sure.
I still like Gone Girl the best of all three.
I will be reading Sharp Objects for Week 38: A Book about an Anti Hero.I found Gone Girl compulsive reading despite the fact that I found the 2 lead characters fairly loathsome. Also I'm not sure if Gillian Flynn was trying to make a point by littering Gone Girl with the 'C' word but it felt a bit unnecessary. All that aside it was definitely a pageturner - I really enjoyed the film too.
I have high hopes for Sharp Objects - most of the reviews I have read have been favourable.
It's been some months since I finished the book, but I ended up giving it 4 stars. It's dark and disturbing, but I think it's really well-written and well-drawn characters. The characters weren't likable, but they were believable.Gone Girl is still my favorite book by Gillian Flynn, and I would definitely read more of her books.
I am reading this for 2019 week 1: A book that was nominated for or won an award in a genre you enjoy. I have not read any books by Gillian Flynn and this one sounded interesting.
This was dark and disturbing, but it draws you in. The past is a factor throughout the entire book. I enjoyed how the books takes you into the minds of the characters as everything happens and how everything comes together.(view spoiler)

I really enjoyed the writing style and decided to give another book of hers a go. I was torn between this one and Dark Places but after reading the synopsis, I made this decision.
