Richard Adams (writer of Watership Down) was born in 1920, not 1973 :o)

You're right. I think it was published in 1972 and won an award in 1973, which is why it was on the list.

Anabel For 1974 I found Aravind Adiga, I already read The White Tiger wich I enjoyed immensely.

Mary Sue For 1959, I chose The Corrections. I honestly don't know what I think about this book. While it has received a lot of "hype" and great reviews, I can't say that I agree. For me it was just OK - a few laugh out loud moments, a few tears and a lot of very unlikeable characters.

Alix (pixiealix) If anyone's still looking for 1978, Erin Morgenstern of The Night Circus fame would fit. I'm deciding if a re-read will fill that for me.
