Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Thank you :-)

@Kyle: Neither. Splashed, as you can see.

Ah, splashed has it's merits. Enjoy the group, Martini.

Cheers."

It definitely has, especially if the splashing of the drink is done by such a lovely swimmer... :-D

Thanks again, I'm already straying around in some threads.

mark monday (majestic-plural) welcome Martini!

and on behalf of Sally, Phil, Scout, and Lobstergirl... WELCOME! i have been designated to speak for them on all matters, internal and external. all 4 of them give you their warmest regards!

message 3109: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Whoa, an official greeter! This group is quiet sophisticated!
Therefore I'll do my very best to always be on my best behaviour, I promise. And I'd like to assure you, mark, and the other absent four, that through the kindness of your welcome and regards I'm getting a really warm and fuzzy feeling.

message 3110: by mark (new)

mark monday (majestic-plural) i think you should now proceed directly to the Cute Aminals thread.

message 3111: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments A bit later perhaps. Too much fuzzyness can be harmful to your health, and I wouldn't want to ruin the thread with bits and pieces of my blown up fuzzy gland.

kogijiki (covered in mud) (kogijiki) | 235 comments Welcome Martini!

Good move not to bathe us in your fuzzy gland right off the bat.

Mark, you need to use proper capitalization before you can presume pretend to speak for me.

message 3114: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24816 comments Mod
Also,

::writhes::

message 3115: by mark (new)

mark monday (majestic-plural) I humbly acknowledge my tasteless lapse in judgment!

message 3116: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments @kogijiki: Thanks for your welcome!
I thought it would be a too icky first impression.

@Lobstergirl: Well, except for the lack of capitalization, mark has quite impressed me as a greeter - I was almost awestruck! - so please don't be to harsh in your criticism.

@Zardoz is in the Tardis: How do you know that I am an inhabitant of planet earth?

message 3117: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments My, that looks dangerous... what happened?

But no, I wasn't. guess again :-D

Jim | 6484 comments Martini wrote: "My, that looks dangerous... what happened?

What are we guessing? Can I play?

message 3119: by mark (new)

mark monday (majestic-plural) not at all, i see a big difference right off the bat with the pleasing lack of shock & awe.

message 3120: by Martini (last edited Jun 24, 2012 11:21AM) (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Who is this Robert you're comparing me to, and why?

@Jim: They are trying to guess which planet I'm from. The winner will be rewarded with an invisible virtual prize medal, so please feel free to participate.

message 3121: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I already have one of those, Martini. So I'll sit this one out.

message 3122: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Congratulations on your other medal, Félix! What did you receive it for?

message 3123: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Guess.

message 3124: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Hmmm... I think you received it for being able to sell somebody a WLAN wire.

message 3125: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Close enough.

message 3126: by Martini (last edited Jun 24, 2012 12:36PM) (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments And you're sure you wouldn't want another one? I designed it myself, and it has a platinum plated edge...

message 3127: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I'll take it if you're offering. Mine is just plastic.

message 3128: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments My guess is the planet Marnix.

message 3129: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Félix, you'll have to earn it.

Jim, good choice, but Marnix is just an asteroid - to small for my purposes...

message 3130: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments How about Epsilon Eridani?

message 3131: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Too huge, and by far too hot.

message 3132: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Geez, you're starting to sound like Goldilocks. Time to find the one that is just right.

message 3133: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments ...and when it is found, I'll be scared away by a bear... I'm a homeless spacewoman... *sniff*

message 3134: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Maybe the Serenity will stop and pick you up. I'm sure Captain Mal will help.

message 3135: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Martini wrote: "Félix, you'll have to earn it."

Planet Hollywood?

message 3136: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24816 comments Mod
I stopped being able to follow this conversation a long time ago.

message 3137: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Lobstergirl, I'm starting to feel a bit like that as well at the moment - that Captain Mal surely never crossed my Milky Way... Sorry Jim, I'd prefer Captain Future.

Félix: Are you serious? I'm not an actress.

To bring this to an end, let's just say my origin remains uncertain, and I'll give away one of the announced medals to everybody who participated.
Here they are:

Sounds mayan to me (might be a dish or something) ;-)
No, it's cloudedleopard, just like the cat!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

message 3144: by mark (new)

mark monday (majestic-plural) welcome Cloudlepod!

message 3145: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4446 comments Welcome Cloudl!

message 3146: by Cloudedleopard (new)

Cloudedleopard | 44 comments @mark, @evie, @Barb: Thanks!

With all those short names I can't find appropriate abbreviations for you... that sucks!

message 3147: by Martini (last edited Jul 11, 2012 07:08AM) (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Hi Cloudle - what a lovely new name you've got... ;-)
Nice to see you here.

Hey! Just imagine someone would crop your name to Martin ... it would also change your sex. I have the impression that an important part of me has been stolen: I'm just a fluffy cloud in the sky instead of being a really dangerous cat (2 inch teeth!)

message 3149: by Martini (new)

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 195 comments Well, isn't the fur of a cloudedleopard kind of fluffy?
But I see what you mean - I'd rather stay a delicious drink than having a gender reassignment.

Though I'm wondering what a "Cloudlpod" could be... A new heavenly Apple device maybe?
