Gail Re: message #543: droooool....

Granny Smiths are excellent, but so are Macintosh or Winesaps, fresh from the trees...

And those naturalized apple trees that come from the old cider apples, all small and wizened? They make terrific missiles for kids wanting to rough it up a bit without getting hurt too much. And they leave your clothes smelling quite delightfully of apples, leaves, and fall.

Ah, the dear dead days of my New England life...

'Ah, the dear dead days of my New England life...'

love that line Gail, hi! from Windfall.

message 507: by Gail (new)

Gail Hey, Windfall. I've enjoyed your participation hereabouts quite a bit.

message 508: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments ::sneaks in and brings back the ficus::

I rescued it from the algebra thread and took it to a movie.

message 510: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, there is nothing worse than an educated ficus.

message 511: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) We must not forget that it's main function is to be an obstruction.

message 512: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments How do we know the movie was educational? They could have seen Police Academy or something...

message 513: by [deleted user] (new)

I was saying that she took it away from the algebra thread so that it wouldn't be educated.

message 514: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Ah, now I understand. Took me a while. And remember, I also said I couldn't do algebra. Not really bright lately, I'm afraid.

message 515: by [deleted user] (new)

I love these threads!

message 516: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) They love you, too, WA.

message 517: by [deleted user] (new)

aw,,so sweet, thanks for that Larry.

message 518: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Don't mention it.

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments RandomAnthony wrote: "How do we know the movie was educational? They could have seen Police Academy or something..."

I took it to see Paranormal Activity. I needed something to hide behind. :-P

message 520: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Wise choice, Jaimie. Let's just hope you didn't scar it for life.

Heidi's the only one I know who can find a thread. She's got powers like that.

message 523: by John (new)

John I have a scar. My dad brought me to see "On Golden Pond," I was never the same...

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
How do you say "non sequitur" in Chinese?

message 525: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Welcome to TC, John! Heh...not a bad first post...

message 526: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Yeah, I meant to say that too.

message 527: by [deleted user] (new)

I second RA's welcome John. The psycho analysis that you may receive here should help remove the scar.

message 528: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I like how Jim separated the words "psycho" and "analysis".

I resent that.

message 530: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Did you go to an Ivy League school Ficus? I can think of many things worse than an educated ficus. On Golden Pond may indeed be one of them.

Welcome hugs to Windfall Apple & John. :)

message 531: by [deleted user] (new)

I apologize to The Ficus what was I thinking.

message 532: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments You BEST not piss of The Ficus, Jim. And guard your nose.

message 533: by [deleted user] (new)

Duly noted Heidi.

::puts on hockey goalie mask, with a football helmet over top::

Nose protected, but I won't be able to see The Ficus sneak up on me.

message 540: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments You can't just hide behind it anymore, or hide from it. It comes after you. In ninja gear.

message 541: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I find it intoxicating.

message 542: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments Sarah Pi wrote: "Has anyone else noticed that life has changed around here since the Ficus became sentient?"

Was it because I took it to the movies that one time?

message 543: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Did you get water on it? Or feed it after midnight?

message 544: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments Sarah Pi wrote: "Did you get water on it? Or feed it after midnight?"

Damnit! Both. I didn't know it was a Gremlin Ficus!

Did you put it in the microwave oven once it morphed?

message 546: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments No. It's bigger than me. It might try to put me in the microwave instead. I'm thinking about giving it back to the old, creepy Chinese man, though.

message 547: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Huh?

message 548: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments The gremlin Ficus, Larry.
