One book per list but you can use the same book in separately in your title list and your names list.

Therefore you cannot use Nalini Singh for both the S and N in the names list unless you read two of her books.

You can either do one list or both.

Yes, if you want. It definitely is harder sticking to Characters or Authors. When you get to U and X.... Last year I put that you could do up to 4 but no one did more than 2, even doubling up. I was 2 or 3 short of my second list. So I made it a little easier for this year.

@Jeana- you must be a big Mercedes Lackey fan. I have some of her books on my shelf but never have read her. What is good to start? I don't particular like YA, so on the adult fantasy side.

Yeap as we go along that definitely happens. The last few books I've read have been like that. I had been able to use them on both lists in the beginning and now sometimes they don't fit either. The last handful of letters are always the hardest.

There is a whole year. If you need to, and you are doing just one list, just combine the Series/Titles with Authors/Characters.

@Amyiw I wouldn't say I'm a big Mercedes Lackey fan. I've read all of the Valdemar series (which is quite long) and a couple trilogies she's written with other authors. Although I like her work, I wouldn't put them on the top of my list to recommend to people. I think the best work of hers that I've read is the Obsidian Trilogy: The Outstretched Shadow, To Light a Candle, When Darkness Falls

Audio books are my answer to limited time to read. The libraries have a pretty good selection and I have an audible membership too. Still sometimes there is just a reading slump, like right now I don't want to start anything new. I've done a bunch of re-reads but I feel like pushing to getting to anything new.

@Jeana- I might try one of them someday but she is not on the top of my list.

Good luck with U, u will be hard. For titles not so much with Undead, or Un... something else, but names. I found a Ulysses last year in a short story. Last names like Upton or Underhill can sometimes be spotted while reading and get an obscure character. Ursula for a first name. The main character from MacRieve is Uilliam.

From here mostly I'll have to pick my books to match because none of my books fit... too uncommon letters. I'll give it a few months and then see what is left but I think the with the majority I'm going to have to actively choose. W is my only easy letter left

Yes, you can do a mix if you want to or stick to one or the other. Depends on how hard you want to make it. Once you get to those hard letters like U, X, and Q, I think fudging even your own decisions would work. Looks like you got the Q already. :-)

Thank you very much. I would like to stick to character names ideally but there are a couple that I could use the author name if I had no other choice. Glad that this is a year challenge so there is a chance that I could come across the name that I need. x
