message 162: by Laura (new)

Laura avery | 181 comments How frustrated am I? I walked the two mile trip to the library to get some of the books on the list, It appears our library doesn't stock any of the greats anymore, not one of those books are available. Came home feeling deflated and a bit tearful. Only a fellow bookworm would understand the delight of potentially getting to grips with a new book ..Wahhh! Now I have to wait 2 weeks to get hold of them.

The Night Circus ***

This story, I'm sure, will have a cult following and has many of the visual style readers of steam punk will love. A plot which weaves in and out of two main timelines, eventually meeting at the stories climax. For me, I wanted a little more intensity in pace and characters and a few more thrills but it is still a very likeable story.

1/5

message 169: by Karin (new)

Karin | 229 comments I'm new and have already read a number of the group reads, plus several I started and they were decidedly not for me (we don't all love the same books :) ). So, I'm going to try for these three that I have never read:

1. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
2. The Princess Bride'
3. Chocolat (Chocolat #1) by Joanne Harris (not my normal style of book, but I love chocolate...)

Thanks! I am trying (and failing) to buy books for a while, as I really need to read the unread books I already own, before I buy more. I've actually had to buy two books for this challenge. There's only one book left on the group reads list that I own, so I might read that one in March.
