James' death was heartbreaking though, I really liked him. But the rest of them are just... Ugh. AIDAN has completely lost the plot, which is scary. How can you even make a machine like that, that you can't control? This is why I don't read much sci fi, it freaks me out thinking that stuff like that could happen! (hide spoiler)]

Finished! I'll be writing a review soon. Honestly, I'm pretty underwhelmed by this... Definitely didn't live up to the hype for me! (view spoiler)[ I was scared for everyone's lives and stuff at the end, and I found it really interesting getting inside AIDEN's head to find out what he was thinking when he was ensuring everyone was going to die. But, like Melanie said, the way it was set out made it a chore to read. When I get excited by a plot, I read it incredibly fast, and whip through the pages. But I felt like I couldn't do it with this book as much! I really had to concentrate on everything that was going on, which bothered me (hide spoiler)]

That's enough for tonight. Definitely an adrenaline-pumping thrill ride. I like the format. I like getting my information from such a variety of sources -- it gives me such a wide range of perspectives.

Thanks for helping me find the strength, Kim. Lol! You will be happy to know that at 82% my laptop is still in one piece. Even though (view spoiler)[AIDAN said that Ezra is dead. Am I supposed to just believe that kook? Am I in denial? Probably. But still. AIDAN is supposedly a logical thinker. And logically he needs Kady to stay with him in order to fulfill his mission. If she suspected that Ezra is in quarantine in Hanger 3 of the Hypatia (as I hope he is), then she would go to him, rather than stay with AIDAN. I also think AIDAN has his own version of infatuation with Kady, and is jealous of Ezra. So I'll just stay right here in denial as long as I can -- thank you very much! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[The suspense about not being sure about Ezra was killing me. Your consideration did, however, nearly cost me a laptop -- I almost chucked that sucker across the room despite my denial... ;)

I really enjoyed the book! I don't consider it predictable, even though I was able to predict some major elements. (I chalk it more up to a "great minds think alike" kind of a thing ;) -- or may just my unabated optimism shining through even the darkest moments... :D

I love it when an author drops enough clues that you theoretically could predict outcomes, or at least have suspicions, but it will take a second reading to get that "ah ha!" moment.

For example, I thought it was strange that Ezra didn't react to the suicide of his friend, Jimmy, or to Kady's having to shoot his friend, Dorian. But I had NO idea that it was AIDAN texting. So that was a mega-shocker for me. In retrospect, like Kady, I feel I should have suspected something. (hide spoiler)]
