19% - (view spoiler)[Okay, so I'm kinda hating the way this story is being told. The writing style is just so flowery and over-descriptive and then the whole story is just a conversation between a vampire and a boy. I'm not even feeling fully emerged into the story because of all the 'and then I said, and then he said' which keeps me reminding me this is just a vampire talking to someone and it doesn't feel like a full picture story. Am I making sense? I don't know how else to describe it.

So so far, Louis is annoying and whiny, and Lestat is just an asshole. I get that Louis needs time to come to terms with his new vampire state, but come on dude! You're a vampire, start acting like one! You can't just be whining because you've got to kill people for food, or whining because Lestat is doing that.

They just keep making decisions where I'm like, what is your goal? Why are you doing that? Don't you see you're making things worse?

Yeah, I get that mentally she's grown past the age of 5 and he's never actually said they did anything physical, except sleeping together in the coffin (weird), or the occasional kiss (told in an innocent way, but still weird), but she still looks like a 5 year old, her body is still that of a 5 year old's. I'm trying to separate the two but I am reading parts and flashes are the film are going through my mind and then something different happens and I'm like no it's supposed to be this.

I liked the stuff with Babette, I liked it all the start and the finish. I'm not liking Lestat in the book. He seems very aggressive and abusive in the book. (hide spoiler)]

Sometimes she seems to be his companion and at others she seems to try to manipulate him. They have finally found vampires like them, and i feel that they are about to find out that they don't have to kill to drink. I wonder what will happen next. Claudia is still just a mini version of Lestat and always tries to control Louis. Armand was great and in the end I felt very sorry for him. I hope he just left and didn't do the vampire death thing. I liked the fact that in the end Lestat comes unglued and the end of his life is basically how Louis started. (hide spoiler)]

Like, he went on for a while about Lestat's father, but I think that really tells a lot about how different they are. That Louie is so compassionate to this stranger while Lestat is cruel.
