Thanks Connie I had gotten quite far and then stopped for some reason Thanks for getting md back in
Hi Marisa,I haven't read any of your choices but I do have a few waiting to be read on my kindle. For your January challenge, I pick The Culinary Competition Mysteries by Janel Gradowski . Anxious to hear how you like them. Happy Reading!
Kory A Bull wrote: "Staci I picked the Caprice De Luca Mystery by Karen Rose Smith. I think looks like a great series"Hi Kory! Excited you picked this series. I got to meet the author earlier this year. She lives the next town over from me so it's fun recognizing some of the "fictional" places she writes about.
Louise, My pick for you will be the Housewives Assassins Handbook. I haven't ever heard of this series. I'm adding it to my list for series to try! Let me know how you like it.
Happy Reading!!
Gina
Kate! Thank you so much! I just started the Coffeehouse Mysteries which was also picked for me last month. I enjoyed the first two so much I really want to continue. What a wonderful way to start the new year, cozying up with the adventures of Claire and family!
Here's to another year of great reading,
Gina

I'm so happy that I picked one of your favorite series! I do hope you enjoy reading it with winter upon us, reading a favorite series, under a blanket, and a drinking a hot cup of tea, coffee, coco or all three to keep you warm on these cold, cold nights! Happy Reading
Julesy wrote: "Kay - I pick the Peculiar Crimes Unit Mystery Series by Christopher Fowler for you. This looks like an interesting and very very different type of series. Let me know how you like the books/series!"
Julesy, I think you meant that you picked for Kate, not Kay... Just wanted to clarify since Louise is supposed to be picking for me and I know nothing about the series you picked...
Hilary wrote: "I'll start your year off with a classic Robert and pick the Agatha Christie Miss Marple books for you :D "Thank you. I look forward to it.

Anna Catharina wrote: "Hi Joni, you have so wonderful series, it was so a hard choice! I pick the Booktown Mysteries for you and hope you like it :)"
A new series for me so exciting to start it in the New Year. Thank you Anna Catharina for choosing for me!
Nell,I watched Harley Jane Kozak on a long ago soap opera 'Santa Barbara' and really liked her portrayal. Since I am not familiar with any of your five choices I will use that reasoning for choosing:
Harley Jane Kozak, Wollie Shelley
as your series for January.
I hope you enjoy your reads!

I have finished my first book in this month's challenge.
French Pastry Murder I will start the next book in probably a couple of weeks. Love this series and so happy I will be caught up!
Wow, you're well on your way with this series, Julesy. I've got to start that one too, one of these days.

Currently playing catch up on some group reads but I should be able to start mine this weekend :)
Connie N. wrote: "Wow, you're well on your way with this series, Julesy. I've got to start that one too, one of these days."It is one of my top 5 favorite series, Connie. This book wasn't one of the best of the lot but I still love the series and the characters.
I just finished reading the first book for this months challenge. I read Dropped Dead Stich by Maggie Sefton. It was pretty good it was a little lite on mystery. The focus was on the group of friends helping Jennifer with her struggle to cope with a traumatic event. It was a good book to get reacquainted with the characters

Finished the first one of my serial challenge books and working through number two now :D - thank you again for the pick Karen!
Yesterday I finished the first book of my January challenge:
The Cat Who Smelled a Rat. I really like this serie, but it only got 2 stars because I think it has not much story and not much mystery ... but it was a good read!

Ive finished my first book in this challenge, the second Hannah Swenson story by Joanne Fluke, Strawberry Shortcake Murder. I found the bright pink cover of this book a bit off putting, but I had enjoyed the first in the series, and this one did not disappoint. Good cozy, recommended for holiday reading. This promises to be a good series.
I have finished all but the last book in the Maggie Thorsen series. I have loved book six,
and book 7,
. I'd rate both of these a full five stars. Having trouble finding a copy of Book 8 that I can afford. $9.99 for the kindle version just isn't in my budget. Will try the library and a local second hand bookstore. At least I got my 2 for this month done, but I'd really prefer to have them all finished out...

Kay you could wait a month or so and see if the kindle price comes down, I have done that with some I want to read!
Another option is to do a price watch on www.ereaderiq.com They email you when the price drops.
For print books, you might also try online used book sites like www.thriftbooks.com or www.betterworldbooks.com

I'm currently waiting on books from Betterworldbooks that I ordered back in December. The price is good, but the wait is taking a long time.

I've noticed that media mail really slows down during the holiday season. Hope your books arrive soon.

Thanks, found a copy I could afford at betterworldbooks... now if it gets here by the end of the month, I'll be golden, otherwise, I can finish it next month...
I just finished the first book in the Miss Marple series,
, that Hilary selected for me. Thank you!Through a series of twists and turns of my own, I ended up reading this along with Joan Hickson's audio of the book playing. It's the first audiobook I have listened to completely. Listening to it as I read it made for a most welcome read.
Onward to the next book in the series.
I've finished the second book for the serial, Doughnuts & Deadly Schemes, and I've liked it a lot, more than the second one. Thank you to Stacie for choosing this series.
