Hi Kory! Excited you picked this series. I got to meet the author earlier this year. She lives the next town over from me so it's fun recognizing some of the "fictional" places she writes about.

Gina | 27 comments Louise,
My pick for you will be the Housewives Assassins Handbook. I haven't ever heard of this series. I'm adding it to my list for series to try! Let me know how you like it.
Happy Reading!!

Thank you so much! I just started the Coffeehouse Mysteries which was also picked for me last month. I enjoyed the first two so much I really want to continue. What a wonderful way to start the new year, cozying up with the adventures of Claire and family!
Here's to another year of great reading,
Gina

Joni (joni214) | 45 comments Nell,

I watched Harley Jane Kozak on a long ago soap opera 'Santa Barbara' and really liked her portrayal. Since I am not familiar with any of your five choices I will use that reasoning for choosing:

Harley Jane Kozak, Wollie Shelley

as your series for January.

I hope you enjoy your reads!

It is one of my top 5 favorite series, Connie. This book wasn't one of the best of the lot but I still love the series and the characters.

Kory Bull | 3 comments I just finished reading the first book for this months challenge. I read Dropped Dead Stich by Maggie Sefton. It was pretty good it was a little lite on mystery. The focus was on the group of friends helping Jennifer with her struggle to cope with a traumatic event. It was a good book to get reacquainted with the characters

message 88: by Anna Catharina (new)

Anna Catharina Yesterday I finished the first book of my January challenge: Die Katze, die den Braten roch by Lilian Jackson Braun The Cat Who Smelled a Rat. I really like this serie, but it only got 2 stars because I think it has not much story and not much mystery ... but it was a good read!

message 90: by Helen (new)

Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments Ive finished my first book in this challenge, the second Hannah Swenson story by Joanne Fluke, Strawberry Shortcake Murder. I found the bright pink cover of this book a bit off putting, but I had enjoyed the first in the series, and this one did not disappoint. Good cozy, recommended for holiday reading.
This promises to be a good series.

Kay (Brigidsmomma) Compton (brigidsmomma) | 122 comments I have finished all but the last book in the Maggie Thorsen series. I have loved book six, A Cup of Jo (Maggy Thorsen Mystery #6) by Sandra Balzo and book 7, Triple Shot (Maggy Thorsen Mystery #7) by Sandra Balzo . I'd rate both of these a full five stars. Having trouble finding a copy of Book 8 that I can afford. $9.99 for the kindle version just isn't in my budget. Will try the library and a local second hand bookstore. At least I got my 2 for this month done, but I'd really prefer to have them all finished out...

Another option is to do a price watch on www.ereaderiq.com They email you when the price drops.

For print books, you might also try online used book sites like www.thriftbooks.com or www.betterworldbooks.com

Robert (rdowens) I just finished the first book in the Miss Marple series, Murder at the Vicarage (Miss Marple, #1) by Agatha Christie , that Hilary selected for me. Thank you!

Through a series of twists and turns of my own, I ended up reading this along with Joan Hickson's audio of the book playing. It's the first audiobook I have listened to completely. Listening to it as I read it made for a most welcome read.

Onward to the next book in the series.
