I read this book maybe around 5 years ago. It was about a guy who has to come to earth to collect the souls of the recently deseased. He later finds the girlfriend he had when he was alive(maybe)or from the afterlife. there is a lady (also a soul collector) who is trying to kill the girlfriend because when they were in the afterlife, the lady was supposed to be reincarnated, but the guy pushed his girlfriend into the portal and she was reincarnated. I think the girl has had many near death experiences but the guy has saved her and kept her alive because he still loves her even though she doesnt know he is watching her. He isnt supposed to talk to the people on earth but he accidentally shows himself to her and she falls in love with him again. this is basically all i remember, and its not really in order. any help would be greatly appreciated.

oh, and i think the cover was showing the backs of a guy and a girl. the background was white or black.
