message 55: by Jenni (new)

Jenni (jenniatonu) | 45 comments I finished The Heir!

Quick question, are ARC's allowed? I have a few ARC's from BEA still that I wish to read this holiday break, but I'm not sure if we can count them? I know they aren't allowed in the book pool challenge, and with good reason.

:D

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Wow, Jacque! That is fantastic! I LOVE the whole format and cover etc. of Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman !! I need to read it but I have some other books due and challenge books I need to get to as well.

message 59: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments Family's been over all day but I got through a lot of Silent Night The Remarkable Christmas Truce of 1914 by Stanley Weintraub and am starting Outpost (Razorland, #2) by Ann Aguirre

message 60: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments I finally cleaned up and put away all our Christmas decor from inside and outside and have started re-organize one room and our garage! Phew! It's been a busy day!

I'm starting Oblivion (Lux, #1.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and then Wake (Dream Catcher, #1) by Lisa McMann

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 1020 comments I've finished three books already today ( Ready or Not (All-American Girl, #2) by Meg Cabot Crank (Crank, #1) by Ellen Hopkins The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie (Ashbury/Brookfield, #3) by Jaclyn Moriarty )
I was trying to read as much as possible because I'll be busy babysitting most of the week, so today was my main chance at reading!

Up next is All I Need by Susane Colasanti ! It's short, so maybe I'll be able to finish before tomorrow...

message 62: by Linsey (new)

Linsey I finished my first book today. I only have to read three more books to complete my Goodreads Reading Challenge! I am rereading some of the 7th heaven tv show book series books. They are short so it shouldn't take me long to complete my Goodreads Reading Challenge!

message 63: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Well, I finished up What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler on day 1 but it didn't cout for points since I had read half the book prior to the start of the readathon.

I decided to start with a book my husband's sister gave us that reminded her of their mother who passed away on October 31 of this year. A note came with it saying that their mother always believed in making a difference in a person's life, even if it was just one person and she surely did! So I read "Don't Forget to Sing in the Lifeboats" Uncommon Wisdom for Uncommon Times by Kathryn Petras on day one.

I started Oblivion (Lux, #1.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout but barely read any of it because my other sister-in-law called with news that she's developed something caused by her cancer treatments and now she needs a bone marrow. So that news left us unsettle throughout the night so my reading all but came to a stop. Hubby needed me so family DOES come first. Hoping to get to it today after taking my daughter my NOOK so she can borrow it while she recoups from her ankle surgery.

Jenni (jenniatonu) | 45 comments I'm a school librarian, and had really high hopes for this week, but I forgot much stuff I have to do on my week off. UGG.

It's 10 here, and I haven't had a chance to read yet. Blah.

Reading The Silence of Six (SOS, #1) by E.C. Myers Yesterday/today as book 2.

Honestly, I would be happy with reading 7 books this week.

message 65: by Tashy (new)

Tashy Jones | 821 comments I did pretty well yesterday but on a 12 hour shift today, been reading/listening to audiobooks on my breaks so could be worse

message 66: by Miodrag ★❥ (last edited Dec 28, 2015 07:51AM) (new)

Miodrag ★❥ | 889 comments I finished my first book Good (Too Good, #1) by S. Walden and started reading Better (Too Good, #2) by S. Walden earlier today. It's two-book story and I liked characters and story from first book, so I continued reading! Bummed that we didn't get anything from Mark's past in first book, but happy to see that we will find out more about that in the 2nd book (and more happy that in 2nd book we see some things from Mark's POV! <3) and I hope to see a happy ending for those two. :)

Running With Wolves | 26 comments I'm reading The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #2) by Michelle Hodkin and Storm Siren (Storm Siren, #1) by Mary Weber but I'm having to study so not getting to read much

message 68: by Cara (new)

Cara (caramariew) | 366 comments I'm working today but I keep sneaking chapters of I Am Princess X by Cherie Priest . So good and not what I expected.

message 69: by Jenni (new)

Jenni (jenniatonu) | 45 comments I have a half-organized library now, and I'm trying so hard to fight the urge to finish organizing it, and read instead!

With that being said, do any of you have a bookstagram or normal instagram and posting photo updates of your readathon? I am, feel free to follow me, and post your username! I'd love to follow more! (I'm also a mom, photographer and school librarian. My instagram is all about those three things. ;-) )

Anna (Adventures with a Book Nerd) (bookish_anna) I completely messed up and forgot to write out my posts for the week! So, I don't know how much I will be able to read today. I am currently reading Tiger's Promise (The Tiger Saga, #0.5) by Colleen Houck which is a novella, so I might be able to finish it today. How are your guy's day going?

message 71: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 4527 comments I have more time to read tonight since my work closed early due to freezing rain and sleet in the area. I am glad that I can spend the rest of the night reading.

message 72: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments Yikes! I hope you stay nice and warm and safe Amanda!

message 73: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments I seem to just be STARTING books today, no finishing!
hopefully that means I can finish them all tomorrow!! :)

message 74: by Miodrag ★❥ (new)

Miodrag ★❥ | 889 comments I stayed late to finish reading Better (Too Good, #2) by S. Walden couldn't help myself. XD
My next book to read will be Withering Hope by Layla Hagen ;)

Thanks :) The ice should be melting today once the temps get above freezing.

I hope you can finish some books today. :)

Anna (Adventures with a Book Nerd) (bookish_anna) I finally finished reading Tiger's Promise after finishing my posts for the week. It is currently 4:30 am, and my laptop is refusing to connect to the internet. So, hopefully I will have better luck when I wake up. Whatever time that ends up being.

message 77: by Trinity (new)

Trinity I have finished my first book The Young Elites (The Young Elites, #1) by Marie Lu and halfway through Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson :)

message 78: by Linsey (new)

Linsey I completed my 2015 Goodreads reading Challenge! I ended up reading 50 books this year! Most of the books that I read for it were 300 pages and up. There were a couple that were 200 pages and less, but not very many.

I got a lot of great books for Christmas that I can't wait to read!

Lindsay♫SingerOfStories♫ (lindsaysingerofstories) | 183 comments My subscription for Oyster just expired....I am so down in the dumps! (If you aren't aware, Oyster WAS an app that I could most easily describe as "Netflix for books"...$8.99/month and I had unlimited access to a mass amount of books!!!) They just finished up their last month in business and I am so sad. :( I loved that the app allowed me to read multiple books at a time. I could start a book and abandon it if I needed to. Or I could just browse! So now I'm trying to figure out what to do...Kindle Unlimited doesn't seem to have as many YA options as Oyster did. I'm sort of looking into Scribd? Or there's the good old-fashioned library. *sigh* Why in the middle of the read-a-thon???? *end rant* Sorry, all!

message 80: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Lindsay, I hope you find something that works for you!

message 81: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 12196 comments I'm so glad with my progress this time :p Read 4 books so far, and it's the 4th day. Planning to read one a day basically, because I've got my boyfriend over and we're just binge-reading the same series :p

message 82: by Miodrag ★❥ (new)

Miodrag ★❥ | 889 comments Just finished with my 4th book First Year (The Black Mage, #1) by Rachel E. Carter (5*) which was pretty good, because I really liked it I am planning to start reading tonight Apprentice (The Black Mage, #2) by Rachel E. Carter .
Tomorrow I don't think I'll have time to read, so I hope to read maybe 1 or 2 more books before readathon ends.
All in all, I set my goal to 4 books and I am here already, pretty fast I thought I wouldn't read that much because I wasn't reading much this year. But I'm happy with what I read, 3 out of 4 books were pretty good reads! ^^

I have a subscription to Scribd
https://www.scribd.com/

it's kind of the same thing

message 84: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments I just realized I have a bunch of library books due by 1/3
and one of my goals for this year is to try to read all the books I check out from the library

so I've had to re-vamp my list for the rest of my week...so today I'm finishing up
Made for You by Melissa Marr
starting: Nash (Marked Men, #4) by Jay Crownover Young Man with Camera by Emil Sher The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

Anna (Adventures with a Book Nerd) (bookish_anna) Is it another 24 hours until the readathon ends?

message 86: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 12196 comments I've finished already, because that's the time-zone I'm in, so it could be for you. I managed to get 7 and just over half of another book read. So I'm really pleased with that. Just frustrated I couldn't get my last 6 points from my book that I didn't get a chance to finish.

Miodrag ★❥ | 889 comments Anna (Adventures with a Book Nerd) wrote: "Is it another 24 hours until the readathon ends?"

I think we have whole Saturday to read... (I planned to finish 5th book today)

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong?!

message 88: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 12196 comments It depends on what time zone you're in. When I joined she gave me a time to start on the 27th and a time to end on the 2nd, but maybe it was just me that followed it.

message 89: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Everyone should be ending at the same time.

Everyone has 15 hours and 50 minutes left to read.
