Sounds good, PI Allison. And you've been good so splurge on a book for Christmas. You deserve it!

The timing actually is great. By the time we're ready to start sideread(s), the book will be ready for you. Bam!

I'm not into gore or computer generated boogie men or women. Give me a good old fashioned ghost. And though there was a bit of the computer stuff, it wasn't enough to spoil movie for me. I was more smitten with the acting, costumes, the characters, the décor of the mansion, the old castle...over all fabric, colors. There was enough story too. I dunno, I just liked it a lot.

Good for you Nicole. I hope you enjoy your movie date! I don't get to the movies too often either. I have a Groupon in my purse that's for the movies, 2 sodas and a popcorn bought like...3 years ago now. I'm bad - I buy the Groupon's and don't use them.

Glad you found it, Nicole. Same here; I don't go often to the movies anymore but when I do it's because there's a flick I really want to see on the big screen. Now go and have a good time. If you can, enjoy a big popcorn!

PI's, this is right up your dark and sleuthing alley. PLZ help me find a book. I only know it only by the cover. Probably fiction and perhaps suspense or mystery. Okay, it's a lady in vintage gown (she appears long or tall in pale colored gown) say 1700's (I'm guessing). With a tall powered (appearing) wig or hairdo. We don't see her face as it is partial covered by material, torn page or a mask of some sort. I had the newsletter and in haste deleted it with an overstocked e-mail cache. It seems it's been released late 2015 - early 2016. Help me find it, PLZ. ;-)
Powell's. I think it was in either late 2015 or early 2016. Have you heard of Powell's? It's a great B&M and online store who will take some of your barely touched used books. Anyway, if you or any of the PI's can find this book, I'll spare you the hugs and give you a wild card on something. ;-)
Arrgh! I hate when I do this. lol Spent a couple hours on site last night trying to remember title, find it. A search didn't do me much good either.

Same here. I'm a sucker for a great cover! lol

The peppers are really good. We have been trying to eat low carb so that kind of meal is the usual for us. I have found so many recipes on Pinterest but sometimes forget about them.

Nicole, feel free to find me on Pinterest, I have tons of low carb, healthy recipes pinned on various boards.
Don't even want to get started on Pint
rest. Went there a few times and addictive personality that I am, I had to get out of there, pronto. lol

Zowee. I've five books here or coming at me that I need to, want to read.
Haunted came in, Jab, jab was put on back burner, three more in addition to that. All hard covers and new but one. Love a new good book in my hands!

PI's, caught a glance at a shout out from author M C Beaton's camp re: a birthday promo. Search around and see if you can find a note saying that if you send her your birthdate and zip code, she will e-you or post a birthday gift. I'll continue to look for link and if I find it I'll post it. If you find it, PLZ post it. That would be a hoot!

"Yesterday, the M. C. Beaton Facebook page reached the wonderful milestone of 20,000 Likes!
In celebration, we are offering you free gifts, no matter where you live, during the month of your birthday. To sign up, email your name and birthday month/day to mcbeaton@HULEDET.com.
Many warm thanks to the M. C. Beaton fans!"
That's the one, Jill Thanks for posting it. What I think happens is that she'll send an e-coupon or the like for our zip area. We probably will send it to smart phone (in my case I'll...) make a copy and then take it to restaurant, store or whatever. No snail addy necessary.
J, I did the same thing so I just resent it with the zip code this time.
Let's see what happens :-)

Allison, Jill, I clicked a couple buttons and set things right again. I think it had something to do with phones and readers, apps and stuff. (Between my writing, film, job stuff, phone work, social media, imdb and sometimes a li'l fun and they all start dickering and changing things, yikes, I spend way too much time on device.) Good thing is it feels familiar and comfortable again. ;-) Thanks!
Main read is fine with me. Will give me time to catch up with things. But if the majority wants it the other way, I will go with that.
No one has a May birthday that I know of so we're good. J has a June birthday and would love to discuss the new Krista Davis book that's releasing in June. All's well if it works with everyone.

Sorry, but I think I will pass on the May read--I'm all "booked" up, so to speak at this time. I'll likely be back for June, though!
I agree, Jill. I'd love to clone Pghfan and have him step in when the real one cannot. Will miss you for May, Pghfan. We'll hunt you down if you don't return for June. Okay? lol
Thanks for the compliments! I will still be peering in from time to time, as always. I can't wait till I retire so I will have more time to read!

I have a bunch of books from Netgalley I want to finish and have to write some reviews that I promised for authors. Geesh, you'd think I was getting paid for all this work LOL
Sounds good to me too. Allison, feel free to do a Goodreads invite, shout out or Mr. B is welcome to invite any fans or welcome new ones!
Nicole, June was J's pick but she may not be able to attend June read & discuss so I thought maybe push it back for when she was able to attend for I know she was looking forward to her pick.
Keep looking in for when we figure something out. Probably more the middle of May we should know something.
Those who cannot read, attend Mr. Beckham's book discuss, feel free to pop in and welcome our May author. If able, that would be nice. ;-)

Okay, Pghfan's BD is July so he'll get that pick. And if J can't make June, we can give her August and we'll do something else for June. It doesn't seem fair to read her pick when she's not able to attend so we'll be the good li'l? PI's and save it for her in August.
Just so we are covered either way, I'll wait a bit before we start nom'ing June picks (should J not be able to make it). Should J make it for June, we can always stash the noms for August.

Sounds like a plan, Tina. Add thanks for remembering my birthday. It is a while away just yet...
J, Glad you're feeling better. Yes, June is saved for you. I thought I "heard" you say that I could start June discussion if you weren't able to. I didn't want to take that away from you and that's why I posted that we would wait for you. In fact it works out great that you are able to run the June discuss. All's well that ends well.
