The Parlor PI's discussion

J, Thankfully, Hallmark is stepping up for summer as several of my favorite series have wrapped or are soon to do so. :-( Meantime, I'm enjoying Father Brown and some MSW and Columbo reruns on various channels.

Love 'em all, PI's. Can't wait!

Gourmet Detective is good, Jill. Liked that one. Hope they'll bring on more.
Jill wrote: "I wish they would make more of the Gourmet Detective, I like that also. I can get hubby to watch these as well so it's a win, win for me!"

Lost my computer for a day & 1/2, PI's. Luckily I didn't trot it off to Office Depot for a fix as I kept tinkering and finally got files back from an all black monitor. Yikes, does it ever end? Well, if it comes in 3's, I should be good for a while. Now, I'm ready for it coming in 3's in a good way!
Found a good read (least it looks that way) about how the Brit Parlor Mysteries were born...or similar. Thought it might make a good side read sometime during summer. I'll get correct title and post it. Have two interested as a possible.
The Art of the English Murder: From Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes to Agatha Christie and Alfred Hitchcock

Someone posted a book on Facebook that sounded interesting. It's called "The Hotel Westend" by Ashley Lynch-Harris. Sounds like a bit of And Then There were None, Clue and the like. I certainly don't need any more books on my TBR list but I couldn't resist LOL
BTW, I didn't win the Diva book but I will pick it up none the less.

Going for a medical test tomorrow. Could use your prayers and good vibrations, PI's. ;-) Will let you know how it goes.
Thanks, Jill, Allison, PI's. One down (worst of the three) two to go and then the OV where I get the results. Meantime, getting back to my serious reading and opining. ;-)
Thanks, J! Years ago many just suffered the consequences of unchartered territory in health care discoveries.
Thank you, Nicole! We are fortunate to enjoy modern medicine and are grateful for it all. ;-)

Catching up, PI's. Meantime, Happy Memorial Day to you and yours. Thanks to our heroes who made our freedom possible!

Thanks for the invite, Jill. I'm there with you in spirit! ;-) Yum!

Quiet day here - husband went on a motorcycle ride with some friends and I stayed home. Watched "Sergeant York" this morning on AMC. Gosh would I love to take their Classics Cruise - it looks like so much fun. Then I watched an Aurora Teagarden mystery with Candance Cameron Bure. It was good. I enjoyed it.
Thank you to all Veterans for everything you and yours have done to protect me and mine. Words cannot adequately express my Gratitude. (BTW - my dad is a Korean War veteran.)

Next Sunday starts the new mysteries every Sunday night on Hallmark Mystery Channel. Can't wait for that.
Thank your dad for his service. Both my dad and hubby's dad served in Vietnam and hubby was in Desert Storm, he was there the very first night it started, and while he was there doing that, I was off to the er to take my 3 mo. old son back to the hospital...Wasn't a fun night I can tell you that.

I also just noticed there's a Goodreads giveaway. Don't know how I missed that! I just entered about 20 Goodreads giveaways this morning. I hope I win one!
Jill, was that you who got picked to review the Fat Cat Book?
Okay, PI's. Thanks for weighing in. The Parlor stays. Just don't won't to keep it going should there no longer be interest. I thought we had a nice group. Comfy, cozy...all things mysterious and friendship. I'm happy we all want the same.
Typically, summer is slow and people want to well, summer. That's a given. But I didn't want to assume anything and-- So thanks for staying and filling the halls with opines, reviews, friendship, laughter and of course, mystery. ;-)

Good news, not too bad news. Met with doc over test results (others to go in future, ugh) and the diag/prog was good on one hand but...well, could've been much worse so I am thankful and somewhat relieved. Just a bit of a trying time these last few weeks with death of Leo and the scare I got and somewhat resolved. PI's, keep up all those health issues, tests. Don't be like me and let them go too long. All's well that's moving towards a happy ending...er, outcome. ;-)
So, thanks for all your good wishes, prayers. Means a lot to me! ;-)

I didn't know anything about J leaving, so does that mean that she doesn't want to host the new Diva book? Like I said earlier, and I must not of read that J left, the new book is due out Tues. and I don't know if the ones that ordered the physical book if it will get to them on Tues. or not, but I'd still like to read it for this months discussion.
Good luck Nicole, I've entered a lot of give aways here and I think I've only won like one or two.....but that's to be expected with how many peoples are on goodreads....
Tina, we got this! out little group will grow we must be patient, and besides that, being small helps the butler on serving us drinks faster, we have no wait time for our drinks or our hors d'oeuvre

So happy for you Tina! I agree we should ALL keep up with our medical, not just when we have symptoms, but we should keep up with our yearly exams as well.

Okay, I'll address it and then we can go forward -- Small isn't the issue. That's fine but when one invites some to go elsewhere (and leaves some out) that's not right. Like going to a party and telling guests to go elsewhere after hostess puts things together.
Maybe I read wrong but it just seemed that way to me. (Because I'm not a fan of my ipad I'm left out?) I could've participated somehow. Read all the posts see what it sounded like to you. I felt left out esp. when I was feeling low and going thru a rough time. Like kick a person when they're down.
If I'm wrong, I apologize but I truly felt left out. Right? Wrong? Feelings...everyone has them.
Okay, we can bat this around a bit more and then move on. Thanks. ;-)

July Baby, Pghfan, you're up in July. You get to list title (or a few and then we'll vote on it). It's your month.
No hurry, not rushing June discussion at all. Tradition shows we start selection process mid month previous to next month.

I really like the Garage Sale Murder mysteries with Laurie Loughlin...is that right? Anyway, I really like her and the sidekick. I haven't seen any of the others yet.
