2016 - Buddy Reads Introduction & Sign Up
Hello everyone. As we're getting close to the new year I was wondering if anyone had any requests for BRs for January and February. If you do just post your requests here.
I want to readVoices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster. Just got it and really want to read it. Either month is good
I want to start on Octavia Butler's Patternmaster series, which begins with Wild Seed. Anyone else for that one in January?
Thanks Winter. I have them marked down. I just wondered if there were any others for January and/or February.

Cassandra wrote: "I'd be up for The Way of Kings as well. I've been meaning to read it for so long."That would be great, Cassandra! I have heard good things about it. Actually happy I'm reading it as a buddy read, it has been on my kindle waaaaay to long.
That's brill the more the merrier for way of the Kings I'm expecting it to be a brilliant ride it's just such an intimidating size book
Winter wrote: "The Red Queen and Shirley is already planned for January, so you can add those :)"I'd like to read the red Queen too.

Great! I love that so many sign up for buddy reads, much more fun to read together!
I would like to join in with Wild Seed. It's a book way out of my comfort zone, so it will be nice to have others to read it with.
Anne wrote: "Anyone want to buddy read War and Peace?"I have wanted to read it for years. However I'm looking for a specific version, and since I haven't found it yet I'm probably going for Anna Karenina later this year instead.
Hunger in Febuary.I can do Red Queen in January. It is on my list for next year.
I could possibly do War and Peace but later in the year after I do more challenge reads. Its on my bucketist to read someday.
I am doing Anna Karenina if you .ight want to do that sooner?
If any one is interested. I planned on doing Gone Girl
The Souls of Black Folk
Cash
The Hobbit
Divergent
White Oleander and
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
And it looks like Red Queen
All in January.

I am doing Anna Karenina this year. Not sure which version.
Winter wrote: "I talked to Jodi about reading Anna Karenina this year too. Maybe later this year would be good?"That would be good for me, like maybe tbe fall, October or November? Then my kids will be back in school.
A few of us realized that we are all planning to read War and Peace sometime this year. It's a big book and would be great to discuss, but it'll probably need to span three months. What months would we like to try this? I'm pretty open, as long as it's not January.
I was planning on scheduling War and Peace over 4 months due to the sheer size of the book if that helps people.
Zara wrote: "I was planning on scheduling War and Peace over 4 months due to the sheer size of the book if that helps people."I would be down to read War And Peace. Should we read the same translation? I'd preferWar and Peace this one, the new fancy translation.
Caro wrote: "I want to readVoices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster. Just got it and really want to read it. Either month is good"This is on my TBR list! However, I think I'm full-up on January reads, and it's actually waitlisted at my library... if you're still interested, can we aim for February?

Buddy Reads
This section is for all of our members who are interested in reading with a buddy or 2 or 3! All you have to do is:
1) Post which book you would like to read (Link or cover is fine).
2) Post the dates you intend to read the book (ex: Month of July, July 1 - July 15, etc.).
3) If you are interested in joining a nominated book, post which book you are interested in reading (Name and Link/Cover of Book).
4) I will create a thread for discussion of each of the Buddy Reads for the book and those interested.
Feel free to join in more than one buddy read at a time. In fact, it is highly encouraged. The more participation we have the more fun we'll have!
