Felicia (lishari) | 6 comments I read a book about a space shuttle going to Mars. There is a doctor on board. They will be traveling for several months to get there. Before they reach Mars there is a disaster and it appears that they won't make it to Mars and back so they turn around to come back to Earth. There is a virus discovered that they believe may have come from space. In order to survive and all make it back to earth, the doctor puts everyone but herself in a medically induced coma and the majority of the energy to the space shuttle is turned down/off for the few months until they arrive back to earth. In the end it's discovered that the virus was planted from someone on earth and it was all a conspiracy. This is not a normal sci-fi with aliens or anything like that, more a space adventure. Is anyone familiar with this book and what its name is?

mdt (mdt13) | 135 comments Gravity by Tess Gerritson?

More suggestions in this thread from last year: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

ETA: Gravity was suggested in the old thread and I guess that wasn't it. What year did you read the book?

Felicia (lishari) | 6 comments That was my thread last year. Somehow my account got deleted. Still looking for the book. It wasn't Gravity, but I did read that and it was good. :-)
I read it maybe 5 years ago.

Oops, I see mdt already linked. FYI the old thread has been closed to avoid confusion.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Felicia, did was the majority of the book about the travel towards Mars/back to earth?

Or, did it focus on the virus on Earth?

message 6: by Felicia (new)

Felicia (lishari) | 6 comments The majority of the book was about the travel in space.

Felicia, are you still looking for this or did you find it?

message 8: by AquaMoon (new)

AquaMoon (aqua_moon) | 12 comments sounds a lot like "A Season of Passage" by Christopher Pike.

Felicia hasn't been active on GR since Feb. of 2015. Do we want to move this down to Unsolved or wait a bit longer?

Has anyone else read Alissa's suggestion who can confirm or refute that that is the correct book? I can't really tell from the reviews.

Felicia (lishari) | 6 comments The book was Gravity. I went back and reread it. The intro was completely different than I remembered so the descriptions threw me off. Thanks for the suggestion!

Felicia (lishari) | 6 comments Solved. Book was Gravity. I reread it and the intro was different then I remembered which threw me off. Thanks everyone!

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments You can mark the request as solved by clicking the 'edit' link next to the subject line / title, and then selecting one of the "Solved" folders. This will help save our moderators some time.

You should also change the subject line / title to start "SOLVED: [then your existing subject line/title of your post]" which helps people still find your request later.

Solved requests are almost as important as unsolved requests (eg, eg, so don't delete your info :D Otherwise it looks like this, which completely doesn't show how you generated *so* much interest for your book). The requests continue to exist in the archive, and people looking for your book end up on that page via search engine because of your description/keywords - which improves the whole world :)
