Cassandra | 5832 comments Welcome, Nep!

Emily, I think you're asking about the satirical book prompt (#38)? There's a books shelved as satire list that might help. Basically, it's a book that's making fun of something. They can be sort of heavy, like Catch-22 which concerns war, or more lighthearted like Terry Pratchett's Discworld series (The Color of Magic) which makes fun of common fantasy tropes.

Does that help?

message 985: by Alek (new)

Alek TS | 10 comments Could you someone explain me, please, what means "A book and its prequel"?!
Do ''Honeymoon in Paris'' and "The Girl You Left Behind" by Jojo Moyes are in this category?

message 986: by Janine (new)

Janine | 1544 comments By prequel I think it just means a story that happens before the main events of the other book. They're often published later to add more back story or fill in the gaps.

I think the suggestions you've made are perfect for the challenge. Although I haven't read them, the description for Honeymoon in Paris calls it a 'prequel novella' and says 'takes place several years before the events to come in The Girl You Left Behind'.
