Geoff (geoffgreer) I'm in the middle of reading the Wheel of Time for the first time (currently on Fires of Heaven). I'm also a big fan of podcasts. Today, I discover tWoTcast.

I'm sure someone here has listened to it, so my question is: do they get into spoilers in their discussion of the books? Can I listen to the episodes about books 1-4 safely since I am on book 5?

Mark Catalfano (cattfish) Dunno, it's interesting that they seem to be doing a re-read of Name of the Wind at the moment

Seed | 6 comments Huh, I've been looking for a NOTW podcast.

Micah (onemorebaker) | 1071 comments I didn't know anything about this podcast, so sorry I can't help you. However I am now going to try it out and see what they have going for them. So thanks for posting about it. :)

Not my intention, but you're welcome.

Eric I used to listen to that podcast often, but haven't in a long time. Yes they will mention spoilers, and I wouldn't recommend listening to it until you have finished the series.

Thanks for the answer. I guess I'll continue on alone in my conquest of WoT. It seems no reread/recap blog/podcast can keep away from spoilers for first-timers. I know I'm probably missing things, I'd just like to hear a different viewpoint on the events of the story. Oh well.

I would be interested in your thoughts as you work through the books. I have read the first 10 multiple times and plan on an epic re-read at some point in the next ten years or so. LoL.

I really liked The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn. I liked The Shadow Rising a little bit less then the first three. The main reason for that was that I felt that only one of the storylines (Perrin's, maybe the Nynaeve/Elayne story) had a true ending and the other stories were left hanging. Still enjoyable, but just without a true payoff. It seems The Fires of Heaven is a straight continuation of the 4th book, so its not such a big deal anymore.

Just a heads up. Be ready for more of that. The series got so big that Jordan ended up leaving some characters in limbo at certain times only to catch up to them a book or two later, or at least it felt that way.

I remember The Fires of Heaven being one of my favorites perhaps only second to Lord of Chaos which is book 6. I hope you enjoy the series as much as I did and just a word of advice, keep plugging through even when some of the books bog down. The payoff was worth it.

I don't plan on stopping.

You say that now, but you aren't up to Crossroads of Twilight yet, heh.
