Gianna My daughter turns 12 on Saturday. But she acts 15 when I let her...which isn't often. Just her...she's more than enough lol. Never wanted kids but I can't imagine life without her. Don't want to...usually. some days I ask, "How is she mine?" But I love her regardless.

message 105: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments If Rhonda submits her entry before 1am our time Friday morning I will roll the dice. If not, Gianna can do it after review is in.

message 106: by Gianna (new)

Gianna I was going to wait until I signed off tomorrow evening to share this, just in case. But even if Rhonda doesn't submit her week's entry tomorrow, we have permission to continue on with the challenge. I won't go into things because it's not my place to share but Jenne contacted me about it.

message 107: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments OK thanks for letting me know. I'll roll either way.

message 108: by Gianna (new)

Gianna Not a problem. I was originally just going to wait until tomorrow. I will say she didn't just up and disappear and she did contact Jenne. I hope everything is okay for her though.

message 109: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 880 comments so...are we only 3 now? if we need another book...I have a number 4 that I'm almost done with...to get us the points :)

message 110: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 880 comments so...if you can use it...

I read Black Jack (Elite Ops, #4) by Lora Leigh by Lora Leigh
4th in series :)

Rate: 5 stars

Review : well...this series never fails to amaze me with the suspense and very heated romance....naturally...because it's a spy story....the characters are dealing with unsavoury threats...but lost memory aside, you get really dysfunctional family, on the edge of completely falling apart, and put that into the midst of MI5 and CIA....and you have even more craziness!

can't wait to get to the next book :)

message 111: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Y'all go ahead and roll tonight. If y'all have any friends that might want to play feel free to invite them and we'll get y'all a backup :)

message 112: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 880 comments hey Jenne...I put a second book in just in case :)

message 113: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments I will roll in about 45 minutes. Thanks for the heads up. Have several 2's in a series I can read if we get at least a 6 and get to the 20's. Will know shortly!

message 114: by JoAnne (last edited May 01, 2014 10:14PM) (new)

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments Rolled 3 + 3 for 6 = 20 for week 3

can read a stand alone or book 2 in a series
alternate is author G

Think I'll read book 2 in a series (same series I read book 1 in for last week's challenge) but it won't be until early next week - have a few review books I have to get cracking on this weekend!

Against the Fire (The Raines of Wind Canyon, #2) by Kat Martin (The Raines in Wind Canyon #2) by Kat Martin

Happy Reading to all!

message 115: by Gianna (new)

Gianna Thank you, JoAnne!

Ladies, right now it is just the 3 of us. We only have to read one book still. Something came up and Rhonda contacted Jenne about it. Which was the right way to handle it, when a person is able.

After a little more coffee I'll get us posted up and then choose a book. I have a few choices that I can go with and now I have to narrow it down. LOL

Always fun to choose the book to meet a challenge!

message 117: by Gianna (new)

Gianna Yes! And I have so many books I have to read for other challenges by the end of May and June that I have a good selection. My biggest complaint is...which one do I choose? What helps is knowing I'll read them all but I do try to pick ones that work with cross-challenges.

Oh so do I and I'm not as heavily involved in challenges as you are!

message 119: by Gianna (new)

Gianna Okay, I've decided. Only because for a few of my choices I have to read book 1 first and I don't want to run out of time. I'm going to read Bad Boyfriend. I read Bad Company last week. And Book 2 fits a bunch of my challenges.

message 120: by Gianna (new)

Gianna It helps that I'm a stay at home/work from home wife and mother and that my job requires reading anyway.

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments Gianna wrote: "It helps that I'm a stay at home/work from home wife and mother and that my job requires reading anyway."

True - wouldn't mind a job like that. I was a stay at home mom for 12 years with ocassionally subbing. I also was a mystery shopper back then too. Working in an elementary school office, while stressful, is fun a lot of the time and I enjoy being around the kids who make it all worthwhile. I wanted to be a teacher growing up but when going to college there were no teaching jobs available - similar to now - so I became an accountant instead since I like math! LOL

message 122: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 880 comments I have a few 2nd in series and lots of stand alone books. Will see what author..G I have..... :)

Sounds like a plan. The lower numbers are always easier. Nice to have the alternates to choose from. Need a big roll one of these weeks!

Will they start this week?

message 134: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Renee is on board and she can jump on in or wait till next Friday.

message 135: by Gianna (new)

Gianna Yesterday was horrible with trying to get on here! And this wasn't the only site I was having difficulty with. I was getting SSL certificate errors from nearly everywhere I tried. I was annoyed.

I think if she is able to start now she is welcome to. But I would leave it up to her since she's the one joining. Thank you, Jenne, for the great communication you've done!

message 136: by René (new)

René (bookgeek4life) | 32 comments Hi Ladies, nice to meet you! I'll be joining you for the challenge. This is my first time playing.

Just to make sure I'm understanding and read the right post:
We're on square 20? We can read a standalone, 2nd in series or author starting with G?

I don't mind jumping right in. I can have a book read before Thursday :)

message 137: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 880 comments You are correct Rene :) welcome to the challenge :)

message 138: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 880 comments I actually finished this evening..

Book: Spring Fever by Mary Kay Andrews by Mary Kay Andrews

Stand alone..

Rate: 5 stars

Review: well Mary Kay Andrews is a brand new author to me! I really enjoyed this first book! It is a romance with lots of misunderstnading and humour involved. You never know which way the story is going to go...and the characters just play so well off each other.
I loved Mason and Annajane right from the start, and Mason's sister...Pauline (Pokey) added that sisterly, best friend element...it just made me fall in love with this little town.

message 139: by Gianna (new)

Gianna Hi, Rene! Welcome to Fire Breathing Kittens! Happy to have you here. And that's awesome you're jumping right in. Can't wait to see what you read. I love adding new books to my ever-growing TBR.

You are correct. Jump right in. Let us know what you're planning to read - inquiring minds like to know.

Gianna is our captain and posts. I stay up til 1am and roll the dice on Friday morning and post the new roll and spot we're on along with the alternate if we've all posted our reviews by then.

If you go back to the earlier posts you'll find out a little about each of us. Feel free to tell us a little about yourself.

Welcome to our team Rene!

message 141: by Julie (new)

Julie | 213 comments Hi people, I hear I am on your team. I look forward to participating.

I would like to read Insurgent by Veronica Roth.

message 142: by René (new)

René (bookgeek4life) | 32 comments Just a little about me:

I live in Missouri (Central Standard Time) and I'm a night owl/vampire. That usually means I'm up till 2-3am on a good night and later on a bad night.

I will read most anything but I'm in love with romance novels. If you combine romance and paranormal (especially angels and demons), I'm in heaven! :)

message 143: by René (new)

René (bookgeek4life) | 32 comments I narrowed it down to just one book to read :)

I'll be reading Slide (Roads, #1) by Garrett Leigh by Garrett Leigh

Rene
My son graduated from Washington University in St Louis last May - we drove there and back each August and May and flew in a few times too.
I'm also a night owl and can get by with very little sleep.
We all have such varying interests in books as you can tell by the books we've already read for this challenge.
Happy Reading!

message 146: by Gianna (new)

Gianna Welcome, Julie! We have two new members :)

Yes, as JoAnne pointed out, I'm captain. However, I do appreciate the support of the whole team. I'm an early riser, so it really helps JoAnne does the rolling for me. I could do it in the morning but I figured the earlier it's done the better.

Congratulations to you and you're son! What did he major in and what's his field? How long does it take to drive from Connecticut and back? Did you get in some good site seeing on the way? :)

I wish I could get by on little sleep more often. I can get by on a 4hr stint if I'm able to take a couple hr naps. Otherwise, I'm in need of 9 hrs :(

I love meeting people with different reading interests. I tend to binge on a genre and then cycle through to the next. Challenges help me to not stay in one genre for too long!

Happy Reading to you too!
