Deb | 372 comments I'm currently reading Firestarter and listening to audiobook The Girl in the Blue Beret. Fire starter is great. The other one....meh, kind of dull.

Still have 2 more books after these to complete my 2015 challenge. Thank goodness I have some days off to devote to it.

There's a part in the book where she talks about how horrible it is to roll socks in a ball, because of how uncomfortable and miserable that must make the socks feel :p

It's a bit of an odd book-the author believes everything has 'spirits' and she talks to her clothes, household items etc a..."

Oh my! Should be interesting!

Saara (lamiena) | 86 comments My current for-pleasure read is a collection of short stories/novellas from Connie Willis, Impossible Things. The other books I'll be staring at intensely in these few days before the turn of the year are all to do with folkloristics and mythology, because university. Not that at some other time I wouldn't read those for fun, too!

I've read about it, sounds just crazy. I hope everything is not in that vein ;)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I'm currently reading The Art of Procrastination: A Guide to Effective Dawdling, Lollygagging and Postponing and I like the ideas he presents. Maybe it's going to help me to work around my tendency to procrastinate instead or fighting it (and failing).

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3850 comments I'm reading Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". It's one of the group reads for the winter Seasonal Reading Challenge. Like most people, I've seen one of the movies but have never read the book! It's worth a read.

Michelle (girlvsbook) | 1173 comments I'm still trying to finish up the 2015 challenge. I think I can do it. I only have four books left.

I'm reading...

Return of the Jedi Beware the Power of the Dark Side! (Star Wars Episode VI) by Tom Angleberger and Tiger Moon by Antonia Michaelis

The Star Wars book is part of a middle grade retelling of the original three Star Wars films. The particular one that I'm reading is the third installment, the re-telling of Return of the Jedi. I'm reading them for my trilogy which I really struggled with in 2015. But these are easy to read and cute so, with any luck, I'll finish this challenge before year's end.

The second book, Tiger Moon, is kind of an Indian fairy tale about a boy, a tiger, and a Hindu princess who must be rescued from the horrible fate of marrying a demon king. I've owned this for years now and never read it. I'm using it for my book that was translated because it was originally written in German.

Good book!

I'm currently reading The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley , which is one of the biggest books I've ever read, and that it's a romance is even crazier lol. I'm about half way done and it's really good, can't believe I haven't ready anything from this author before!

message 63: by Deb (new)

Deb | 372 comments Yesterday I finally started my last book of the 2015 Challenge. Roadwork, Richard Bachman

message 64: by Erica (new)

Erica | 555 comments I finished the 2015 challenge today and now I'm reading Persuasion, my last book for the Book Riot Read Harder challenge :)

Finished The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley last night, whew what a book! Next up is The Warlord Wants Forever (Immortals After Dark #1) by Kresley Cole . It's a shorter book, so I may be able to fit in one more book after that, before the 1st/challenges start :)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I am still trying to read At the Mountains of Madness. I started it a month ago, and it's only 200 or so pages, but holy crap it's boring.

yikes, that's on my TBR list.

Amanda Brady | 69 comments I'm on my 20th and final book of 2015. I just finished Snowflower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See yesterday and knew I needed a quick easy read for the last 4 days of the year. I'm now reading Family Life by Akhil Sharma. It's enjoyable and very quick and easy so I think I will hit my goal!

message 70: by Angela (new)

Angela | 95 comments I finished my 2015 list with a week to spare, so I'm reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. So far it's been a pretty interesting book, but I'm anxious to see where it ends up going. Excited to start the new challenge on Friday, so I have to get this one finished!

message 71: by Pam (new)

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3850 comments Reading Out of the Silent Planet by C. S. Lewis and Fifth Avenue, A.M. by Sam Wasson. Can't wait for January to start Red Rising and The 5th Wave!

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
I just finished Confess and am starting Jaws. They're both in my A-Z Title Challenge but I'm still ready to get the 2016 challenge started.

Hopefully I can finish Jaws before the end of the year so that I can exceed my 2015 goal by one book!

message 73: by Angela (new)

Angela | 95 comments Pam - I really enjoyed Red Rising! Looking forward to the third book coming out this year. The 5thWave is on my TBR after seeing previews for it at Star Wars last weekend.

message 74: by Cecilia (new)

Cecilia (cecilia-reads) Right now I'm really enjoying Hotel Honolulu

We have a new Sci-Fi/Fantasy book club starting up in town and the first book is Red Rising, which I had planned on reading in 2015. I also wanted to read The 5th Wave before the movie comes out. The previews look good!

message 76: by Claudia (new)

Claudia (claudiday) | 4 comments I'm currently reading The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America and I'm listening to Pride and Prejudice, because I really need to listen to something while at work to stay awake.

message 77: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments Sara, it would have to be one of the most boring books I have ever half-read in my entire life. An information leaflet on anti-fungal cream would be more interesting. Yet still I persist!

message 78: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (girlvsbook) | 1173 comments *cough*Twilight*cough*

I needed something to read before 2016. Something that wasn't on any of my challenge lists for 2016. Something I had access to quickly.

Twilight it is. I'm finding it less disappointing as a re-read. Maybe because I already know the hype is not real. :P

message 79: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (girlvsbook) | 1173 comments Pam, I hope you love The 5th Wave as much as I did! It was one of my favorites of 2015.

message 80: by Aglaea (new)

Aglaea | 369 comments I hope Jody's anti-fungal cream was applied to the other one, not P&P :o

message 81: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments Haha! Yes, sadly to my mountains book. I think next time I'll just read a geology textbook.
