This is going a little slower than I expected. It seems like I can't get into it. (view spoiler)[I don't really like Ronan yet. I don't think his approach to a lot of things is okay. Like did he really had to embarrass Sloan and broke his heart? Katarina is his only daughter and family. And he asked eleven years old boy to protect his girlfriend because he is only one who killed someone besides him. WTF? (hide spoiler)]

I almost feel like the author feels the need to shove it down our throats, and make Eragon feel so benevolent for saying he won’t judge others for choosing to eat meat. Like Saphira said, some animals are prey, and there’s nothing that can change that. (Clearly I’m not vegetarian, lol)

Also, I honestly prefer Rorans viewpoints more than Eragons right now. Eragons seem like an excuse to info dump because he’s being taught, I would much rather just skip to the battling and riding. Roran is getting stuff done, and I’m super excited to see if the Varden accept him (hide spoiler)]

I was super surprised by Morgan being Eragon’s father, but now that I think about it, it was a pretty obvious twist. I really hope that we don’t have to deal with Eragon moping around in the next book because of it though.

Yah, I agree with you about the green dragon. Because Saphira was on the cover of Eragon, Talon was on this cover, Glaedr is on the gold cover, but we don’t know the green dragon yet.

I also felt that this was pretty slow, I put it down in the middle just to get back into reading. That’s what I’ve struggled with in both books though, I’ve found the first 75% super slow, and then it picks up. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Roran is by far my favorite character. I like how he’s not “special” he doesn’t have magic to aid him, he’s made it this far through sheer determination. I like how he had to make the hard choices, sacrificing his own morals to save his people. I always found myself waiting for his chapters.

I’m not sure why, but I don’t really like Nasuada. She just gives me a weird vibe.

As for why this is called Eldest, I’d guess it’s because Murtagh is the eldest son of Morzan. (hide spoiler)]

I also wanted to tie it in with Murtagh, I really wish he isn't actually dead and hope that the twins had betrayed them and he was taken as a prisoner, it is doubtful, but I feel like he went away too soon. (hide spoiler)]

phew I love that quote, I started with listening to the audiobook and I have to say - I didn't imagine Saphira's voice to be what it sounds like... (view spoiler)[ I didn't expect the beginning to be filled with so much action already... Murtagh and the twins gone.. honesty with others viewing them as "leeches" I'm sure it was set up and they were behind it.

I honestly doubt Murtagh is dead, there's no way the author would kill him off after he's been such a main character! *wishful thinking* (hide spoiler)]
